I had the thunderbird sandwich. This was a locally recommended favorite. The decor was artsy and enjoyable, though the seating was uncomfortable and room in disarray. The sandwich was mediocre, over-priced, and the mustard overpowered everything else on it. I found myself disappointed and wishing I had tried a different cafe in the river arts district. Save your time and find a place more memorable. This place was boring, the menu was boring, and the service was nothing special.
Stop by it’s good. Well, I was riding around trying to find a place for a sandwich that I could look up the news of the day on my IPad. My favorite thing on Saturday. Went to that favorite Taco shop in the river District which did not open till 11:30, I was so hungry I had to find other provisions. Driving around the round-about just a block down there it was with a wonderful group of people having loads of fun and enjoying great sandwiches. The Clingman Caf. I had the Thunderbird it was delightful with ample amounts of roasted turkey, bacon, Swiss cheese, sour krault (just the right amount not too much) and chipotle mayo topped off on a toasted Panini. All this for $12.00 with a 20% tip. I found this place a well deserving 8.2 of 10. If I had a gripe it would be having to clean the table of the crockery and flat wear. Next time I will not leave a tip and be very happy to clear the table it saves me 20% I can live with that. Oh! They do bring your order to you and thats it. Still a good deal.
Ho-Hum. Mrs. McStyles has been gently nudging me towards this place for a while and after some other Sunday brunch/breakfast plans fell through she finally had her way. I had the spicy country ham sandwich. Not sure why they include the word ‘spicy’ in the title, as there was nothing spicy about it, certainly not the chipotle spread. The eggs were weird and the toasting of the sourdough appeared to be an afterthought. The wife fared better with her Josh bagel, and the mimosa wasnt bad but even she agreed that there was nothing here that leaves her yearning to come back. Also, the price of their salads left us cold. $7.50 for a mixed greens salad?! From a cafe? As others have said; the food here is just alright, but the prices certainly are not.Grade: C drexlermcstyles.tumblr.com
Pretty good environment, but the food was not worth the cost.
Limited breakfast menu. The one special, an omelette, was basic and underwhelming.
Cozy cafe with menu ranging from soups to salads to sandwiches. best brownies in Asheville. Kind and friendly staff. Flavorful recipes with local ingredients.
Enjoyable meal near river arts district. My husband and I enjoyed our lunch there. He had the steak and blue cheese sandwitch and I had the mufalatta. Both were fresh and tasty.
