I on 9/14/17 after storm and w/o power was burned again at the Copper Kettle by ordering the ‘blackened catfish’ so called large plate dinner which actually was not much larger than my son’s crawfish risotto. Both meals were terrible. The catfish was cardboard and totally without pizzaz. The crawfish was stringy and overcooked-how else could it have been stringy-tough. This chef does not know how to cook! Also the service was indifferent-never ck’d on our progress or whether or not we enjoyed this terrible repast. Tables which we were told inside were reserved were not claimed during the whole time we sat freezing on the patio.
We came in at 1pm for lunch and it took an hour to get all of our food. Soup took 40 minutes. The food was good, but it was difficult to enjoy it after waiting for so long. The server stayed away from our table despite empty drink glasses and the long delay in food. It wasn’t until we stopped her to ask how much longer that she apologized and said it would be soon. The manager brought our burger and said she would bring some additional plates and never did. When she came by later to ask how things were going (after we were already done eating and waiting for the check), we told her about our frustration in the lack of service (the server had not been to our table since dropping off appetizers) and asked for our check. She left and began wiping off tables, giving other people silverware, and it took a long time before we ended up getting our check. She did take the soup off our tab which we were thankful for. There was very little communication from our server about the delay or apologies from her. We liked the food, but we will never go back because of the poor, slow service.
