Great presentation of food – visually appealing .. The taste was very average, but the price was sky high and the portions small. unlikely to return. My kids hardly ate their dish. For a family of 4 we had a bill for $120!
Veganlicious. It is incredible what these chefs can do! So happy to have enjoyed a dinner here. Very creative, beautifully plated and delicious.
Asheville, NC 11-20-2014. Though I am not a vegetarian by any means, I have enjoyed vegan gourmet cuisine before. But never (and I mean never) was it this good in both presentation and taste. My wife and I started with drinks; red wine Tamas Double Decker Syrah for her, and a bourbon hot toddy (a seasonal special) for me (make that two). We ordered the S Nuts as an appetizer. A warm smoked assortment of nuts with herbs and spices. We now knew we were in for something special. For the main course, I ordered the Applewood Smoked PortoHouse, she chose the Rosotto. Again, the presentation and flavor was extraordinaire. The pictures really do not do it justice, read the Menu for the particulars. For desert we shared the Live Key Lime Parfait with a cup of French pressed coffee. No previously prepared food here. It is made while you enjoy your drinks and appetizer. The timing for the servings was just right for a leisurely meal. The dcor was very comfortable, pleasant and guest friendly. It helps to promote friendships with your fellow diners while enjoying your meal. The staff was helpful and attentive. The topping for our evening was Chef Jason Sellers joined us for a quick introduction and a photo shoot.Come to enjoy a gourmet meal you wont forget. My only wish is that Plant was a little closer than our 5 hour drive to Asheville, I would be dining there at least once a month.Trivia: The Plant, is a converted gas station that was a backdrop for the 1958 movie Thunder Road, starring Robert Mitchum. https://www.dropbox.com/s/zol48r0deovpqn9/ThunderRoad1.jpg?dl=0https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tdwUpxkfSJw
Spendy. Good service, nice food,,But small portions & overpriced.Glad we tried it but won’t return.
Our first time to this restaurant and what a pleasant surprise!! Made the vegan and meat eater very happy and satisfied. Can’t say enough about how great the food is. Don’t hesitate to try it. We will be back!!
We were blown away!. While traveling through Asheville, my husband and I were hopeful to try some of the local vegan options, having less to try at home. After reading reviews, we settled on Plant and were blown away. We left feeling extremely full, because we had to order two of every course…I have already requested a trip back to Asheville for my birthday meal, and we tried to convince the owner/chef to move to, and start up another Plant in Louisville.Best recommendations:Plantain AppCheese AppRisotta MainChocolate Pie Dessert**Everything we had was prepared to inspire our other senses, and did not disappoint. The service was also fantastic!
Beet Ice Cream. Red beet vegan ice cream. Fabulous texture, with all the earthiness of the root and just right sweetness. Perfect treat to end a perfect meal!
