Definitely the coolest and most chic view in all of Asheville. We stopped by with friends and had a great time. Lots of drinks and many originals. Delicious and the view is tremendous of course!

Sky Bar. It was a great restaurant. We were visiting Asheville for my 21st birthday. It was a very romantic. It has a beautiful view of downtown with nice but simple decorations. The elevator operator was friendly. Our server was helpful with drink recommendations. I like how it is only a appetizer/drink place.
Skip it. The drinks suck and the view is 90% grungy rooftops. While the concept is great, the execution is lacking.
High expectations, not met!. I had the same experience at Skybar that John R., above, had.We got there around 10:30 pm. The bouncer (who was very nice, btw) checked our ID’s and rung the elevator for us. We waited in the lobby for probably 6 or 7 minutes just waiting for the elevator! Then the door opened to the elevator and the attendant, who was on his cell phone, told us they were busy upstairs and we needed to wait in the lobby for 15 or 20 minutes before we could come up. The bouncer seemed very embarrassed and asked the attendant why he didn’t give him this information before he had us waiting in the lobby for such a long time. We then asked what time they closed, thinking around 2am like the other bars in the area, the attendant told us they were going to close at 11:30 or 12. We walked around for about a half an hour, visiting Yacht Club (another bar, that was really fun). When we returned to Skybar at roughly 11pm, hoping we had enough time to see the view and have a cocktail, they were closed. I’m sure Skybar is cool, but I’m not going to waste my time going there again.
Going up, up, up. Flying high. what’s cool about it is that you have to know it’s there because tourists would never find it although they have popped a sign out on the sidewalk. Look, you go there for the view. Like the servers, too. Grab a pricey beer and stare in awe.
