Ate at Catawba Brewing, and the food was tasty enough, though nothing special. Not cheap for a food truck, and I suffered from Montezuma’s Revenge the next day. I do not recommend.
Box of Surprises. As soon as I saw ‘chimichurri butter’ in the description for the Chuasco steak sandwich I knew there was no point in looking any further; I was in. The misses had ordered falafal from Gypsy Queen and we wandered around the other carts for a bit, waiting out our time, wondering when Asheville is going to allow for some real food cart pods with tables where you can sit and enjoy your meal, restrooms, etc. Then we were heralded by our lunch providers, grabbed the respective goods and rolled out in the McStylesmobile. Well, a couple of oddities. My sandwich is stated as coming with a side of their warm superfood salad. What I got was a couple warm clods of red beans and rice and a small side salad. It most certainly was not the superfood salad, which comes with kale, dried cranberries, almond sunflower seeds, etc. This salad had none of those things. Anyhow, there was some mild disappointment on that front but the sandwich looked so good that I just shifted my focus over to it. And it was good, damn good. The steak was a quality cut and was cooked nice and tender, the chimichurri butter was divine and the jalapeno crema blended with it beautifully. The little morsels of cotija fell into all the right grooves; it was a hell of a sandwich. For what it was, the side salad was just fine, but those red beans and their little white friends were indeed, a sad situation, but somewhat understandable. Anyhow, I would certainly get this sandwich again and make sure to verify with the dude what exactly it will be coming with.Grade: B- (bait and switch dont play well to most audiences. Id be careful with that) drexlermcstyles.tumblr.com
