The view atop the Grove Park Inn is lovely, and the atmosphere is wonderful. Live music and candlelight adds to the experience. Food was okay, below average for this type of space. Perhaps because of volume – food seemed pre-prepared and not special at all. The price is for the view – not for the food.
Yes, it is all about the atmosphere and the view at the Sunset Terrace and certainly not the food. For the prices they charge you’d expect something fabulous but it’s not. Chicken on my Caesar Salad tasted and looked like it came from a pre-cooked bag of chicken breasts from Costco. Dressing was great though as was the large biscuit served with butter and honey. My husband’s dish of Roast Chicken lacked flavor. With roast chicken you expect a beautiful browned and crispy skin but it was not that at all. We’ll return for the view but not for the food which was a real disappointment.
