Doublin’ Down. No doubt, I hang my hat at The Double Crown. For me, it has the perfect blend of ingredients going for it; a bourbon selection unrivaled by any bar on the mountain, a staff who knows their sh*t and how to make you feel at home, an atmosphere mopped in funk, decadence and decay, with just enough light trickling over it to find your way around. If theres not a band or a DJ swinging out some raunchous sounds you can always count on the house playlist to keep your feet movin’. The clientele is as mixed as W. Asheville itself and if you spend enough time there, most likely youll probably run into just about everybody that you know. Strong pours, high times, this place sells itself. ’nuff said.Grade: A+ (if you havent tried the Appalachian Old Fashioned then your life has a sizable hole in it) drexlermcstyles.tumblr.com
