We visited Twisted Laurel for the first time last week. We live in Asheville and wanted to try some of the newer eating establishments in town. We sat at our table for a bit before someone came over and asked us if we were being served. There were only two other tables filled at the time. So it was not as if they were slammed for lunch. We had a very delightful young man come and take our orders and answer any questions we had since it was our first time. The food came out quickly. We ordered Kalamari to begin with. It was delicious. We also ordered a pizza and a gyro platter. The pizza was delicious but the gyro was pretty standard. The greek salad seemed like it came out of a bag. Nothing special. The price point was good for lunch. We will come back again. I think they could up their game though.
The food was awesome! Excellent marina sauce and amazing calamari however our waitress Jennifer P was terrible! The service was terrible our server came by the table every 20 mins including before she even greeted us, she brought waters then ran away before taking our drink orders. We got one app then waited another 20mins for the other then she finally took our dinner order which we had ready from the start if she would stayed at the table more than a minute and actually asked us what we would like! The manager came over and comp’ed the apps which was very considerate and was very apologetic and explained the kitchen just got hit with a large order. A large group of regulars came in (30 people) we watched our waitress go buy dozens of times bringing out their food, we tried multiple times to get her attention she completely ignored us. Made eye contact and kept walking we finally got boxes and asked for desert to go and the bills. We got the cheesecake, waiting another 15 mins for the bills which she had the manager bring out. Terrible service! Great food! Disappointing
Our club had a private event at the Twisted Laurel. It could not have been any better. The food was delicious, plenty of it and served hot to all 150 of us.The service was wonderful. The wait staff was very attentive. I would recommend this venue to anyone, whether you are looking for a nice place to lunch, quiet dinner or even hold a party. Be sure you check them out.
Great place for food and hanging out.. Super duper menu. The staff was all around friendly. I give it three thumbs up. Ask for Kerry!! 🙂
Great Restaurant!. Twisted Laurel is my new favorite place to go and eat and hang out with friends in downtown Asheville!
Good food. Excellent philly cheese steak sub. Great Greek salad.
Visiting Downtown Ashville for the First Time!. My husband and I moved from Phoenix recently and were visiting downtown Asheville for the first time. We passed the TL and decided to try it. Loved the atmosphere– the industrial decor gives it a chic and clean look, while the use of rustic wood on the walls and exposed beams keeps it from looking sterile. Very clean dining area and bathrooms were meticulous. Food was very fresh and tasted delicious. At $9 each, we made sure to leave room for our favorite dessert– baklava! I have eaten at much more expensive restaurants in Phoenix and received much lower quality of food, service, and atmosphere. My husband and I were both very impressed with the Twisted Laurel and are considering a trip back to Asheville just so we can take our friends!
