These doughnuts are a little pretentious for my taste and they charge extra for that. Having said that, I wouldn’t turn one down. The are good doughnuts and I would choose them over Dunkin but they are not Geraldine’s.
From the moment we walked in to the moment we close the door, we felt very welcomed by L, who was our barista. The place was clean, the doughnuts were incredible and the coffee was spot on.I really enjoyed this spot because of the experience it provided. I also loved the high ceilings and open space. There’s also plenty of natural light!Good work!
Legitimately surprised by all the bad reviews. One of the things I liked about this place was that the doughnuts are not overly sweet. The big chains need to sugar up their doughnuts beyond infinity to hide how plain they are. We got 4 types of doughnuts (honey/ginger, blackberry/early grey, coconut, and dark choc/cinnamon). We thought all 4 were very good, with the blackberry/early grey an especially good flavor. Doughnuts were light and soft (not dense). I liked the variety of options and the coffee was excellent. I think if you go in expecting a super sweet DD doughnut, or 8 million options a la voodoo, you will be disappointed. I think these are solid well made doughnuts with some interesting flavors. The price was high, but not unexpected.
Tried several flavors: vanilla glazed, berry cream, powdered jam, vortex, salted caramel, and one with chocolate caramel and coconut, like those Girl Scout cookies. None of them were good. No flavor and pretty dry. Actually not even sweet enough. Bought a dozen for some teen boys that usually eat anything. They didn’t finish any of them. Bummer.
Chewy and expensive! We wanted to try all the different kinds they offered, powdered, chocolate cake, cinnamon sugar, vortex, Apple strudel, and salted caramel, and we didn’t find one that we even liked. The are dense and chewy, even the yeast doughnuts. High hopes for a good doughnut, but they didn’t deliver. We won’t be going back. Terribly disappointing!
Coffee is good, donuts are crappy. I live a block away, so sometimes I end up going there despite its BLAH-ness. The only thing worth getting is the apple fritters they have sometimes.
Bleh. These doughnuts are somehow dry and greasy at the same time. No flavor, cold, and expensive. No thank you.
