Love the food but the service could be a little more attentive and upbeat.
Excellent Again. I recently had my wife’s birthday get together here. We needed a place that could flexibly seat a party of 15-20 for dinner, and during the busy holidays, I should add. I called a day in advance and they made this happen for me. We hung out in the new window bar lounge area for about 30 minutes and then had a nice seated dinner. The food specials were really great, which is always nice when there are out of town guests present. Several people enjoyed the gourmet venison burger on brioche, and also the meatball wrap, which sounds basic, but tasted like someone’s Italian grandmother was cooking in the kitchen. I had the wings…I couldn’t stop myself…they are amazing. I should mention that the food came out promptly and the service makes you feel at home.
Taco Tues is the Best!. My boyfriend and I vacationed in downtown Asheville for a week. We decided to venture into West Asheville to check out WALK after reading some good reviews. We get there at about 8pm on a Tuesday and the place is packed. We are greeted right away and love the converted garage open and upbeat feel. I’m thinking this is going to be great! We are seated very quickly and here comes the speedy and best service I had during our whole stay in Asheville. Even though the place is packed we recieved beer, tacos and pleasant service in light-speed manner. We finish eating out first round of tacos and beer and try some more of the street tacos and recieve the second helping in record speed. The food is delicous from the Pork to the Chicken to the Tempeh. French Broad Kolsch is so smooth and a great brew! The atmosphere is laid back and crowd from young families to young locals out for a bite. The staff that work there take pride in their jobs and are ontop of clearing plates and keeping the place looking immaculate. Best place we ate in Asheville during our week stay, I would definitley go back!
Walk is our favorite spot for so many reasons. I almost always get the tacos-the best in town, and I get serious taco cravings so I have sampled many. My husband has tried most of the menu by now and he is always happy. We love the laid back atmosphere but you still get great service. We have a young child, and she is comfortable and welcome there. When we get out for drinks with friends Walk has a cool bar scene too.
Missed the mark Again!. Second time going the the WALK. The first time was an OK to BAD experience, we had to send a two things back for being burnt and tasteless. I have not wanted to go back because I hate spending my hard earned money on bad food. But, I thought I should try it again because I do love their fried pickles and the atmosphere is inviting and comfortable. The service was OK. My first server who got my drink and appetizer order never came back and finally another server asked me if we wanted to order something else. My daughter wanted the mac-n-cheese, it was the worst I have ever had, oh except for the last time I ordered it there. I have a kid, kids want Mac-n-cheese, I forgot it was terrible at WALK. Way too much garlic, cheese was gritty (not blended enough), elbow macaroni undercooked. I told the waitress it was not good, she should have taken it off our bill, she did not. It was unedible. Luckily their culinary saving grace are the fried pickles with chile aoli. I would go back for those in a heartbeat. So for good atmoshpere, beer and pickles I might go back again. But, overall, not a fan.
We eat at the walk at least a few times each month. The food is good, staff friendly, and price is great!
WALK ROCKS. Hello all..i would just like to state that i never ever write reviews on restaurants but i have been informed lately how important in this town that it is to do so.. i want the people of asheville to know that i have been eating at Walk every tuesday since it opened and even though it is getting more busy as the months go by, my friends and i have always had a great experience every time we have been there. The food and service have always been great..we pretty much have our beers waiting on us when we walk through the door. I have been in the service industry for many years and i want to let people of asheville know if there is a bad review on this place, the chances of those people knowing anything about being in the weeds, having a bad day, dealing with rude people who treat you like crap, and getting 10% tips are probably close to none. SO WAKE UP PEOPLE get over it!! Find something else to do with your time than write something about someone else..im sure you have some self growing and learning to do..THIS PLACE AND STAFF ROCKS!!!!! P.S have a little patience in your life..the best things in life come to those who wait!!!
