Best Brisket EVER. I also want to comment about the review below where he complains about the price and what the to go containers are. Yes everything has gone up in price lately but at least the brisket is worth it and I don’t care what they serve it in. I will pay for good taste and good quality! I try to have the brisket at least once a week. I started buying it one pound at a time and now I buy two pounds at a time. My sister is also hooked so I buy her two pounds at a time and transport it to Charlotte. We also take a couple of pounds on vacation with us. I also buy the coleslaw by the pint. Everything is always fresh and always very tasty. I have had Brisket in several places in Asheville and Webos is hands down the best and worth every penny!

Shhh, Don’t Tell the Hipsters, its the best BBQ in Town. This guy below me ranting about price increases obviously hasn’t noticed how EVERYTHING is getting more expensive. Its called inflation and Webo’s has no control over it. Beef especially is considerably more expensive than it was a year ago. So they had to raise their prices a bit? Its still cheaper AND better than anyone else in town. Check your facts. Now, I have not yet tried everything on the menu, but I will get to it since I frequent this place once or twice a week now. Their collards are incredible, best I’ve had at any restaurant. The Brunswick Stew is authentic and a real surprise to have it available on the sides menu. Cole slaw is done the RIGHT way, simple without too many ingredients. Potato Salad is divine. No celery or uncooked crunchy stuff in it, just the right amounts of the right stuff, authentically southern! REAL Mac and Cheese, no more needs to be said. Dang, even their Brownies are awesome. As for the entrees… the pulled pork is simple and done just the way I like it. Not greasy or over seasoned with just the right texture. The Turkey is juicy and smoky in all the right places. The Brisket is pretty good, but obviously not their specialty. Doing Brisket RIGHT takes some obsessive dedication and I’ve noticed most BBQ places either specialise in brisket or everything else. So this place specialises in EVERYTHING ELSE. For instance… The RIBS, dear God in heaven the RIBS are out of this world! Best in town and its not even close! But the best, BEST thing they make is their chicken. Get the 1/2 chicken for only 75 cents more than the 1/4 because even though you probably won’t finish it all in one sitting, you will be glad you had some to take home and enjoy later. Even though they only offer ribs one day a week (Friday) sometimes I get there on a Friday totally intending to get the ribs, but half the time I am coaxed into getting the chicken. Seriously its so good you could probably eat the bones. One last thing to mention is that this place makes a wide variety of their own sauces. I like them all, but my favorite is the Sweet & Spicy, which amazingly enough is simply a mix of their Sweet and Spicy sauces. If you can’t make it to their location in East Asheville, look for their sauces online and at local groceries. You’ll be glad you did!

Pretty good Q. Stopped by to get a quick bite of BBQ and I must say its fairly good. I had the Brisket I thought it was sliced but it is chunked which is OK just a different way to serve. The baked beans were good and tasty along with the Brunswick I have not ever had stew with potatoes. All in all it a good place to eat. 8 of 10

Good stuff. Nothing bad yet… Brunswick Stew is wonderful…

Best in the ‘Ville. Bar none.. Like most folks, I’m a self-proclaimed BBQ snob and have been on the verge of physical confrontation on numerous occasions while engaged in BBQ related discussions. I would argue that the DEEP South (MS, LA, AL) should be categorized along with Memphis, Carolina, KC, etc. You’ll never see most of those backwoods BBQ joints on the Travel Channel or The Food Network or in a travel guide. The folks at Webo’s may not be Southerners, but they serve up some Q that’s very similar to the stuff I grew up on in my native Mississippi. Low and slow seems to be the method, along with some hardwood. The sides are good, the brisket is fantastic, and their pulled pork and turkey are quite delicious, too. The ribs, which are only served on Friday’s, are the freakin’ bomb…and I rarely say that. They’re spare ribs (not baby backs like 12 bones) and they’re cooked properly…really. Do yourself a favor and, if you like BBQ, eat here. While 12 Bones, Luella’s, and the others rely on marketing and gimmickry, these people rely on producing consistently good BBQ. I’m not hating on those other places, I’m just sayin….that’s BBQ for people who’ve never eaten good BBQ or who don’t have discerning tastes. They’re OK, but Webo’s is the real deal. Oh…and try the sauce if you feel like it. I prefer the spicy and the vinegar based ones. I don’t work for or know the owners of Webo’s….heck, I’m not even particularly friendly with them when I’m there. As I said, I’m a skeptic and a snob…and, after 15 years of living in Asheville, I don’t have to drive to Mississippi or Alabama to get a decent rack of ribs.

I was lucky enough to stumble onto webos while using valet gourmet. I have to say that I was looking forward to some mouth watering bbq. What did I get? Mouth watering barbeque of course, but I also got a delicious brisket and possibly the best turkey I have had that did not come out of my mother’s oven. Being that I am a southern boy I also tried the vinegar sauce. It was subtle but delicious, just the way sauce should be. But back to the meat.. In one word, wonderful. The only complaint I had was the slaw. Don’t get me wrong it was good, I just like my slaw with more dressing. Overall I am definitely looking forward to eating at Webos again. I can hardly wait to try the chicken.
