I was driving through Blowing Rock and went into the Green Park Inn for dinner in their Chestnut Grille. Unfortunately late on a Monday in the off season, the Grille was closed. 🙁 ….but their Divide Tavern was open :)…. So I went in. They offered some Grille entrees, plus the regular Tavern menu. The bartender was most engaging with the gift of gab. He was all excited about the coming trout season. Food was good, prices very reasonable, atmosphere great, nice selection of craft beer on tap and some good single malt scotch choices. Altogether a pleasant break from driving. The kind of bar I’d like to own myself, if it weren’t such a difficult business to be in.
