Classic Burlington Staple. I’ve been going to Blue Ribbon since I was about 5 or 6 (I’m now in my 20s), and while the management has changed hands a couple of times, the food has never faltered. The milkshakes are always great, and the burgers and fries are the best in town if you’re looking for somewhere to sit down and eat a meal. One of their surprisingly fantastic dishes (for an American diner!) is the spaghetti. Blue Ribbon is a fun place to eat yourself or to bring the whole family.

Bad excuse for a diner. I went to the blue ribbon diner last week in hopes of having some breakfast. Well, i was so disappointed when I got there because Blue Ribbon does not have breakfast. I dont understand how a restaurant that claims to a diner does not have breakfast food. Breakfast is THE staple of a diner. I ordered a grilled cheese and it was just awful which is pretty impressive considering that its pretty tough to mess up. I would never never never go there again.
A diner without breakfast?!. Just checked this place out, was expecting a bad to decent impersonation of a New Jersey diner. Instead I got a busy restaurant that poses as a diner, with food that is ok, but does not serve breakfast. I didn’t even imagine that it was possible to go to a place that calls itself a diner, has mirrored siding, a jukebox and retro booths and bar stools to not serve breakfast. What a letdown.
Milkshakes Rule Here. This is one of those places that trys too hard to be retro – it is way too shiny, way too much glass, way too little old school wear and tear – you can not manufacture charm. The food is decent – burgers, dogs, usual sandwiches, some plates, spaghetti, and fish, and salads. All are decent, none are spectacular. But the milkshakes are spectacular – thick, very rich, you could even use a spoon on it.
