Last year good; this year awful. Fish was overcooked and drowned in garlicky sauce. Mussels overwhelmed by garlic from a jar. The chef must have forgotten that garlic is a layer of flavor, not an all-purpose fairy dust. Best things we had were the drinks. Server acted like we’d never been to a sit-down restaurant before. Just a lousy experience finished with an outsized bill for terribly prepared food.
Fantastic chowder, mediocre service. We have been coming to CB for 25 years and discovered Michaels when it was next to the old Food Lion and have been back every year since. Their chowder CANNOT be beat and they do have a nice variety on the menu. However, year after year, their service seems to decrease and no one seems to care. Takes forever to get drink refills, wait staff moves slow and seems disinterested. Again though, their food is good and worth the wait, just don’t be in a rush.
It was ok but expensive. Chowder was great. Crab cake not the best. Really wanted fried fish and didn’t have any. Shrimp good. It was eeehh

Seafood chowder is fantastic. Their seafood chowder is out of this world !! Best I’ve EVER had.

There’s better seafood than this at Carolina Beach. When we were seated it took quite a while before our drink order was even taken. The food looks better than it tasted.
