Grotesque pretzels. The pretzels here come in the form of two giant logs. I don’t know why they’ve changed the standard form because it hasn’t made the pretzels taste or feel better. If you love pretzels you will stay away from these. My husband and I decided to go get dinner elsewhere because we thought it was a sign of other bad decisions in the kitchen.
Be careful of Mixed Drink Prices. My wife rarely drinks while we are out but last night I ordered her one of her favorites. Since it’s not a froo froo PomiCosmoDoMeInTheParkingLotArita I was surprised to find out that the Bailey’s and Irish whiskey that I ordered was $12.25. Let’s see, a 4 inch standard cocktail glass a shot of Irish and a splash of Baileys and top off with ice. Woo Hoo keep em coming bartender. A deal like that is hard to pass up.
We started off great, prompt service, great table, delicious Bloody Mary and excellent beer selection. Oh and the pretzels are some of the best I have ever had…Then it all went downhill from there! We ordered a burger with the pretzel bun, added bacon and asked for them to hold the pickles. Our burger came out quickly but as my husband was cutting it in half, we noticed the lack of bacon and it was served on a white bun, instead of the pretzel bun we had ordered. We waited about 5 mins before our waiter came back out with about 8 checks for the table behind us, who was closing out their tab. We flag him down and tell him, we are missing both the bacon and the bun we asked for. He says no problem. He comes back with a bun and a side of bacon…no new burger. So we place our now room temperature burger with hardened cheese and soggy lettuce on the new bun and add the bacon. Needless to say we did not enjoy the burger but ate most of it because we were starving by this point. Would not recommend and definitely will not be back. Good bloodys can’t save bad service!
Not worth the trip to Cary.. This was my first time visiting Craft Public House. Despite the 85% Liked It rating, I cannot say that I do. I started off with a Bibb Wedge Salad. Not too bad, but Bibb lettuce was a bit too bitter for a wedge salad. My wife had braised short ribs. $16 later and she was served -tough- pot roast. We’ve had AWESOME braised shirt ribs in Durham at The Federal and Guglhupf, for the same price. My wings weren’t too bad. Jamaican Jerk sauce wasn’t spicy, though. Final verdict, rename this place with a moniker that reflects that it is a sports bar on par with Buffalo Wild Wings.
I have been to this restaurant a few times and I think the food is very fresh and delicious. The sweet potato frys with ranch are really good, I always order a sandwhich so that I can have them. Also habe had the wedge salad which was fresh and tastey. I really auggest yiu try this place out and support local food and small businesses in the Cary area. Also the drink specials are great, I enjoyed the houses version of a Manhattan.
THEE holy grail BlT. Almost too much thik cut bacon. Silly me. Never too much.
