Impressive. I love hole-in-the-wall BBQ places. Danny’s fit the bill. I had chopped pork, beef brisquet, ribs, Brunswick stew, collards, fries, fried okra, and sweet tea. The service was outstanding. The tea, fries, and Brunswick stew were great. The okra was out of control good – great flavor to the okra and perfectly fried. The brisket and ribs had a great smokey flavor with a lot of depth – brisket was on the dry side but cut extremely thin, good job – ribs were a bit on the dry side as well, though still tasty. Four different sauces on the table: vinegar, sweet, mustard, and hot. They were all pretty good. The vinegar sauce was the most surprising – sweet without much of a vinegar tang. The hot sauce also had a bit more zip than I expected, so that was a pleasant surprise. Barbara even gave me a military discount when I asked for one. Hard to beat good food at a reasonable price with good service.

Strip mall locations are not bad. I have sampled bbq at two of Danny’s locations recently. The Cary location is smoked with the same wood source that all locations use. This site had pork with a lighter smoke taste than the Durham site. Durham has the best smoke flavor and the atmoshere is more like a traditional joint. Cary is a little fancier but still a good place to enjoy a family experience. Their ribs are tender and pull gently off the bone with a good smoke flavor. They are dry rub and take good with the hot and vinegar style sauces. Danny has a great collection of sauces racked next to several tables. My son has tried the Morrisville location and it is a favorite of Triangle area businesses. The greens are lightly seasoned and the green beans are tender but could use a little more flavor. The vinegar sauce or hot sauce give the beans a little zip and make up for the lighter seasoning. My grandson loves the corn nuggets. Their t-shirt is fun but a little pricey at $20.

Awful, awful, awful. Strip mall BBQ served up by surly staff. Overpriced and tasteless. There are so many better BBQ choices that you need to pass this one by. It’s not even pit smoked.

My favorite BBQ in Cary. The smoked pulled pork is quite good. For a BBQ joint, no complaints.

Solid BBQ, Stingy with the Sauce. The strip mall location makes it a little tricker to think of this as a ‘legit’ BBQ joint, however the food does make up for the lack of firewood outside and obvious signs of smoked meat. The St Louis style ribs were particularly good. The only down side is the extra small, to go size BBQ sauce. I don’t need to bathe the ribs in sauce, but it seems a little too stingy.
