My husband and I are no stranger to Dean’s. We used to come here when it was seafood (prior name) and we always liked the food. The service however has always been sub-par. My husband brother and I took my dad here for Father’s Day yesterday. We waited a bit too long and got a 3pm reservation, it was all they had left. When I called, I was told they had over 700 reservations for the day. When we arrived it was HOT in the waiting area. I was wearing a strapless dress and ALWAYS need a sweater when eating out because I am always cold. I am never hot and I was HOT. Our reservation was for 3pm and it took about 10 minutes or so to seat us. It was about 3:15pm by the time we were sat. We sat at a booth right inside the door and it was HOT! So hot as a matter of fact when I was eating my dessert, the chocolate cup it was in MELTED! Are you kidding me?It took a while for our waiter to show up so I let them go eat and ordered our drinks. They made it to the buffet and back (3 grown, very hungry men) and our drinks were still not at our table. Our waiter was MIA the entire time we ate. Our plates piled on the table and drinks ran empty. I had to tell the host and he ended up clearing for us and getting drinks. My brother saw our waiter standing around in the bar area, when I asked if he had seen him.I made my way to the buffet when they came back and found some things to be empty, so I asked our waiter if they were going to refill things (namely the peel and eat shrimp). He goes to check comes back and tells us they will refill things and then do a last call when there is about 30 mins left. I thought, 30 mins? I thought this was an all you can eat buffet? My dad was thoroughly disappointed as he wanted peel and eat shrimp and roast beef (which they ran out of and didn’t refill) and salmon (same deal as the roast beef). So basically, I spent $90 (not including tip) on just over 30 mins of eating…at an all you can eat buffet. Half of the food was gone and people were still waiting to get more. It was 3:47pm when they started to break down the buffet and I mean they were running around trying to get it done. We left the restaurant at 4pm or so. I was VERY disappointed in this meal. This was supposed to be a happy occasion for my dad and his kids and it turned out to be hot and rushed with poor service and ok food. My poor husband wanted his oysters and every time we went up we grabbed them for him because they wouldn’t bring any out. My brother overhead them say, bring out 12 more oysters and that is it. If you are going allow for 3pm reservations at an all you can eat buffet more than 30 mins should be reserved for eating. If not, let people know when they make reservations that you have less than an hour to eat all your food. At an all you can eat (no time limit here) buffet. Right. Makes sense. This is unfortunate as I really liked Dean’s. I was the BIGGEST fan of Michael Dean’s restaurant way back when. This neither meets up to that caliber of food or service. I guess we won’t be going here anymore. What a giant waste of time, money and Father’s Day.

We were invited to Dean’s Seafood Grill & Bar for a family affair. The restaurant is fairly large situated by itself in a shopping area. There is plenty of parking surrounding the restaurant with an impressive front door entrance. Once inside, there is a circular bar separated from the dining room to your left. The dining room has individual booths and tables with a somewhat cozy ambience. The service personnel is very friendly, witty at times, and knowledgeable. The food regardless what we all ordered was all very good. They also had a good selection of deserts, I chose the cheese cake which was delicious. Since I was visiting from out of town, I did challenge the restaurant to email me an airline ticket from NY, and I will bring with me a new set of clients. I figured that they would make out after paying for my ticket.
