I am a big fan of this restaurant/market. There is an Asian market attached to the deli style restaurant. We ordered off the menu from a server whose English was very limited. The food came quickly. It was hot fresh and all tasted very good
What lacks in decor; makes up for in flavor. Is it a coincidence that this place is full of chinese people? I don’t think so! The food is authenic and probably the best I’ve had in Cary. Don’t waste your time and money on fancy decor and the latest ‘fusion’ fads. Do yourself a favor, and visit this little cafeteria for a weekend lunch. You’ll have to fight for a seat, but its worth it! You can satisfy your cravings for just a few yuan – just remember to bring cash, cause they don’t take plastic.PS – don’t forget to slide over to the adjacent stall for a steamed bun, freshly made with veggies and pork. Then head over to the bakery for a red bean bun. Yummmmmmm!!!
While the ambiance isn’t all fancy, this is a great value … and the food is the closest thing to the real deal as we have found in the area. Buns are yummy as is the box lunch.
Box Meal. I still go here for lunch every chance I get. The box meal is a big scoop of white rice and choice of 3 items from the steam table. The picture I uploaded included tripe, beef tendon and pork, zuchinni and cloud ear mushroom dishes. (I’m adventurous!). They have the well-known dishes made to order and the house-made fresh noodle (soup) bowls seem to be very popular…but I always get the box meal. It included a cup of egg drop soup this time…a new bonus!16 Aug, 2009REAL chinese food!. The box meal is the deal! Lots of things to choose from (pick 3) on the food table and it isn’t a bunch of stuff that has been there too long in some overcooked nasty sauce. And it’s different stuff…authentic, since a large percentage of their clientele is there to shop at the very large Asian market. If you’re adventurous, try the beef tripe and the beef tendon dishes…no, really! They’re quite good! The steamed bbq pork buns are tasty too. They also make fresh tofu in-house on the weekends. If you’ve never tried bubble tea, check that out too! The only drawback is that the meal counter is a seperate cash register from the bakery/tofu/bubble tea/steamed buns counter…and bring cash, that’s all they take at the foodservice register. Make this your destination for picking up whatever you need to make a great Oriental dinner…and have lunch while you’re there! Be sure to try their box meal and expand your tastebuds!
Authentic chinese food. Love this place because it reminds me of my hometown (City of Angels). This type of place would be dime a dozen but its about the only place I know of around here that isn’t the regular cookie cutter fast food chinese. Lots of yummy dishes and very affordable.
Fantastic. LOVE this place. The food is reasonably priced. Many options to choose from. The noodle bowls are great, as are the entree items. Bakery items are wonderful. Inquire about specific ones regarding gluten-free–some only have rice flour. No MSG. Cash-only. Must-try.
