Great food at a great price. I have eaten here many times. My favorite items are the pork with onions with is always on special. It is very flavorful and juicy. They also, make a skirt steak that is really terrific, they know how to get the flavor out of inexpensive cuts of meat. I think the steak runs about $13. I typically get the rice & beans to go with it. Their tres leches cake is a nice end to a meal here if you have room for it.
Bought the groupon. People were nice, the food was horrible. The meat on the cuban was so prossessed. I have literally had a better cuban from a gas station in Florida! The white rice disintegrated in my mouth and if you could put a smell you’ve smelled to a taste it would have tasted of moldy socks. The place smelled like sewage inside. Was dirty. If this is authentic Cuban then you don’t know what cuban food should taste like!
Horrible Food! We bought …. Horrible Food!We bought a Groupon and this was the worst food we’ve had in a long time. The place was totally filthy. The meat was hard and dried out – couldn’t even chew it. Plain rains were stale. It was an awful experience. There are too many other good places around. Don’t waste your time or money!
Very Unsatisfied. My wife and I went on a Saturday night and were very unhappy with our experience. From the moment we walked in it very different from what we expected. The menu prices were very high for a restaurant where you place an order at a counter and your food is brought out to you by a number they give you. They were very clearly understaffed in both the kitchen and front. We waited 30 minutes for an appetizer that was something pre-made ( a tamal) which we only got because we asked the one server for. After another 30 minutes we got our entrees. Both were cold. Mine was delicious, I can only imagine how good it would have been fresh and hot ( the skirt steak). My wife’s on the other hand was very cold and inedible. She got the marinaded chicken breast grilled, it tasted as though it had been marinading far too long. It no longer tasted like chicken all we could taste was citrus. All in all we went there using a Groupon which we are trying to get our money back for.
Cool Atmosphere. Went there Saturday night for dinner because I had purchase a living social deal online $10 for $20. Honestly never heard of the place, so I was happy to try. Ordered the cuban sandwich, and was pleased. Not the absolute cuban sandwich I have ever had, but still very good. My girlfriend ordered the marinated flank steak and onions, it was tasty but you could probably chew on it forever. The real treat was the outdoor music and dancing they had available, which was very fun to watch. I felt like I was chilling in Miami for about an hour! Very cool. Lastly, ended our night with the Tres Leche Cake, my all time favorite desert. It was excellent! No doubt will be trying this place again sometime soon!
Authentic. Real authentic Cuban food is all you need to know. Unbelievably low prices for what you are getting. The food is almost always perfect. I have been for lunch several times and dinner even more so. The owner is a really nice guy and cares about the quality of the food. Don’t be afraid to try anything, it is all really good. Service is pay and seat yourself so there isn’t much to complain about there. Only thing I can complain about is they aren’t open on Monday…for some reason that’s always when I really want it.
Authentic Cuban Food. This is a nice little place with good Cuban food. Some of the cafeteria style items suffer from that approach – the rice and the plantains, in particular, too much time with too much heat. The Ropa Vieja, Picadillo Criollo, the Lechon Asado, and the Masas de Poerco are all solid, if not spectacular. The plantains are pretty good if you get there early, otherwise they get soggy. Both the black and red beans are very tasty.I am one of those that does not care for their version of the classic Cuban sandwich (they have a small one and a large one), and I am very familiar with it having eaten many in southern florida. I prefer the pan con bistec, which is excellent, and the bread there is perfect. They use authentic items here, and the owner makes frequent trips to south Florida to load up items that will travel well. Might want to give this place a shot.
