good food but the service is terrible, we went for the last time , we went in and were seated and totally forgotten about. they only noticed us when we got up to leave. They never gave us the menu, they sat other people after us and gave them menus and he started to clean tables so we left.. last time we go there
Update review:I went back here some days ago with a friend. I was disappointed, having raved to her about it, and finding that the food was not very good after all.1. I asked for a cup of tea and was told that it had been brewed 2 hours ago. Now I should have cancelled the order at this point but I thought- ok maybe they have some magic way of making it taste alright even though it is quite old. Wrong. Horrible chai.2. Their samosa chaat was alright, but it didn’t come with green/mint chutney, though they were happy to bring it along when I asked. The samosas seemed quite old as well, but the rest of the chaat was fine.3. Chicken momos- these smelt really really old. My friend hypothesised that they had re-purposed some old kebabs as the stuffing. They smelled kind of strange, and definitely tasted like rather aged chicken.Their service was faster than usual, which good as usually they are deadly slow. But I would rather have had them take 20 minutes more, and turn up a plate of fresh momos. Not happy, but must go back and try their regular dinner menu stuff before writing them off completely.Older reviewMy husband and I have found these guys to have among the best Indian food in the triangle. Just make sure you go with at least an hour at hand, because their food while very good, is delivered exceedingly slowly. The food is good, and I especially recommend their saag paneer and chicken 65. The portions are large, and they will make something as spicy as you ask them to. It can get a bit crowded in the evenings, and when this happens their service really slows down but we have always enjoyed the food enough to put up with this.
Absolutely delicious food. The only thing I regret is waiting so long to try this place!
I have an old review below where I gushed about the food. I think the management has changed since then. The last time we went in we were told it would take an hour for our mains to come out- we left immediately and skipped over to Biryani Xprx, which managed to produce food in 10 minutes (and good food at that). The time before this we were in the restaurant and waited an hour before any food appeared, having been told every ten minutes that it was just appearing. The chicken curry was greasy, and not worth the wait at all. My husband and I will probably not go back here. I’m sorry that they’ve gone downhill so steeply. —-Old review—-Delicious food. I love this place. Everything I have eaten there so far has tasted fresh and delicious. The service is excellent, and in an area full of restaurants serving crappy Indian food this was a great find. We have tried the following items and found them all to be excellent, as well as served in generous portions. Saag paneerMutton saagChicken saagDal FryButter naanPlain naanChilli pakodaGobhi machurianChicken 65I look forward to going back.
Stopped by for a quick lunch with my wife. The smell of the place when we entered was amazing. I had the saag paneer which was great. I will second what other reviewers have said about the garlic naan. It is quite garlicky and if you intend to use your naan as a utensil, I’d get plain. I use a wheelchair and this place was really easy to get into. There’s a very short and low ramp at the curb right in front of the door. The place is small and the tables are a little close to each other, but I didn’t have any trouble navigating. The tables were pedestal type but they were high enough and arranged so that I think most disabled diners should be able to sit comfortably. I did not get a chance to check out the restrooms, but my wife did and didn’t point out anything that would be an obvious barrier. I will definitely return and will recommend this place.
Great little place. My daughter and I tried this place out tonight, and are eager to go back to sample more dishes. We started with the vegetable samosas, which were excellent. I usually run across these on buffets so it was nice to eat them while hot and fresh. Eleanor ordered butter chicken while I went for the lamb kadai, both requested to be hot. The butter chicken turned out to be reasonably spicy while the kadai, though tasty, was not. Perhaps a mis-communication in the kitchen, but still quite good. The butter chicken may be the best we’ve ever found around here. The only misfire of the meal was our fault . . . we ordered garlic naan and their bread is seriously garlicy. We normally use naan as a utensil but in this case the garlic overwhelmed the food, so we resorted to forks. We also had the Himalyan chai, which was nice and fairly different from other chais we’ve had.
Was very delicious! Will be going back soon to try other items on the menu. Definitely get the veg samosas to start with.
