We decided to try this place due to favorable reviews. Arriving at 5:30 on a Tuesday evening, we were seated – after a ten minute wait – at a table about the size of a TV tray. When we asked if we could move to a larger table (all but one were open), the waitress sneered and told us the tables with four chairs were only for parties with reservations. We left. It doesn’t take long for a snooty wait staff to turn a potential repeat customer into a detractor. There are many good restaurants in Cary and Raleigh; I recommend any of them over Maximillians.

Torn on Maxs this time. We had a birthday dinner last night for 4. Calamari was excellent, grilled caesar salad was great, steak was great although quite pricey at $39.99 for an 8oz. Originally quoted $32.99 by the server which was on the upper end of reasonable.The downfall of the night was a 2 year old in the bar from 8pm till after we left. I have 4 myself but evidently the bartender gave the little tyke a stainless cup drink mixer which he/she proceeded to bang on the bar to his/her delight and squeal away. This is UNACCEPTABLE behavior to allow or encourage in a small restaurant when you are paying $40 for a steak. Come on guys and pay attention.
Not the best. One too many times went there and had a so so meal. Last time was an utter disaster for big $$
Love Max’s. There isn’t an item on the menu that I haven’t tried and absolutely loved. Checked it out for the first time last year and it has become a favorite of mine. Warning for those who can’t handle spicy foods though, check with your server before ordering; everything I’ve eaten there has a little kick to it!
A Special Experience. My wife and I love to dine in the loft. The house Syrah is superb and each meal is a minor masterpiece. This place can get pretty crowded (and noisy) on weekends, so plan your experience. This rates as one of the best restaurants that we have thus far discovered in this area.
Best food for miles. Simply the best food for miles around. Original menu, attentive service, yet a relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommended for that special occasion.
