WOW !!. My boyfriend and I decided to check this place out on a whim last night and I am so glad we did. What a gem! I drive the kids to Jellybeans and Ice House ALL the time but never knew this place was right there next to us all along. We will be back….!!! Wine was great, steaks were perfect (they know what Medium Rare means!!) mashed potatoes were so delicious. Only thing I could say would have been better would have been nice if the crme brulee was warm but other than that, could not have been any better.
Want to go back… I have to admit Rey’s has been a bit frustrating. My wife and I enjoy having a drink at the bar first and we will often have our meal there as well. We very much like the bar and atmosphere of Rey’s, as well as the people who have taken care of us, but have found our steak (you have to have steak at a steakhouse, right?) to be inconsistent from visit to visit. The steak has always been prepared to the proper doneness, medium-rare in our case, but on one occasion it will be succulent, juicy and taste as good as we’ve had anywhere in the area. Then the next time, and I can’t figure this out, it will be rather lackluster, lacking that special quality of a good steak, even though properly cooked. We usually go on quieter nights like Tues. or Wed, and I sometimes wonder if that would make a difference? Anyhow, the people are nice, the beverages good, so we’ll try again!
