Had the French Dip which was excellent. Their sides were a bit limited in the vegetable dept so tried the fries which were beer battered. Service was good, went on a rainy day so it was a light crowd. Recommend and may have to go back to update my score if they can handle a crowd.
Expect better quality for what we paid.. We ate lunch there, and it was passible. I had a burger, with a Portobello and bacon. The bacon was ok quality, the Portobello was very small, and overcooked. The burger was overcooked, and did not come out really hot.. Just kind of warm.My wife had the seared tuna salad. It was passable. The greens were very fresh, and the dressing was very good. The tuna was a very small piece for what you paid, and it too was overcooked, and a little warm rather than seared like we asked. Food took a while to come out.
Richard Cerezola. Had lunch on Friday feb 20th and ordered the fish and chips with fries and slaw. The fish was real greasy with no flavor, there was a few fries and a thimble full of watery slaw. I have to say that was a real bad lunch. My wife had a awful Hamburg with some really bad onion rings.
Real good pub fare. This is one of my walk to restaurants though I usually stop on my way home from work, ahead of the main dinner crowd. If trying to go here brunch or dinner always good to get a reservation. That said, I like everything I’ve tried and I’ve tried alot of the menu. Various wings are my usual appetizer choice, Japanese black wings with Ponzo sauce if you make me choose amongst them. Burgers are the house specialty, so I usually go with the house strong suit. but I like the California and Sesame tuna salads. though my picture is the Grilled Chicken salad, only one I have on computer, BBQ chicken pizza (add jalepeno) and Carolina Cuban sandwich are other regular choices of mine also. Good veggie burger, I’ll sub that to the really mean mexican burger. Always a good choice of beer, though the Mashouse line is only ok, various guest taps are good. You should find a beer you like here. Most recently I’ve had the Lonerider The Preacher and Boulevard 80-Acre Hoppy Wheat Beer. If you’re in the Cary/Preston area, this is a good choice IMO
Beware. This place lists gluten free pizzas although they DO NOT offer gluten free pizzas. They have a good selection of sandwiches with gluten free buns. Prices are anywhere from 12-15 per sandwich plus $1 for gluten free. Even though its a little pricey the food is really good.
Ambivalent feelings. Tribeca Tavern is what it is. A noisy, commercial, fancy hamburger restaurant with a *great* draft beer list. I thought the prices were fair. We had 7:15 reservations for a Friday night – we got in about 7:35. Non-reservation customers were being told it was an hour and 15 minute wait. I can’t see waiting that long, even though the burgers are very good and the ingredients fresh and filled with taste. This isn’t plastic food, but it’s not ambitious. Since my wife and I both had burgers (Jimmy the Greek – a lamburger, and my wife a turkey burger), we can’t comment much beyond the basics. But there wasn’t much to pull us back. Nothing bad, some things good, but it’s a noisy mob scene. I doubt we’d be back even if it was closer to home.
Very nice. Super friendly service with excellent food. They have a great selection of Chef’s burgers with awesome toppings that I would never think to even put on a burger. My favorite fried avocado!
