Ive been here 3 times and each time I have had to wait 30-45 minutes and have had a problem with my order. This time I figured I would double check to make sure they got the order correct since the receipt read otherwise and they ensured they would fix it. Of course I get my bagel and half of the stuff I ordered on it was missing and I was upcharged $3 for the additional things that I never received. Oh yeah and there were a couple beard hairs in it…should have learned my lesson the first 2 times but I will not be returning.
I’ve been here numerous times as it’s one of my friends favorite breakfast spots. Of course, the wait is long, but to me it’s worth it. I usually get the booty bagel and the loaded pimiento cheese grits, because apparently I can’t have a regular sized meal like any other normal person, haha. This place is dope, try it out.
I was finally able to try Owen’s for the first time today, and the visit was a mix of good and bad.The good: the quality of the food was solid. I ordered Mary’s gubby bubby, and the bagel was excellent. It was perfectly steamed and still somewhat soft despite being a denser type of bread. The other ingredients were fresh too, but the bagel really shined. The bad: it took almost 15 minutes to get my bagel. It wasn’t unusually busy and the workers seemed to be going pretty quickly but it was a bit slower than I expected. The taste of the bagel was good but nothing really stood out as outstanding, either. The eggs seemed microwaved or re-warmed and other than the bagel, nothing impressed me. My biggest complaint: the size/price. The bagel sandwich I got was tiny – much smaller than bagels from other bakeries or even what you would get from the supermarket. It was fairly tasty, but for $6+ and a 15 minute wait, I would expect a much larger bagel.Overall, the bagel impressed me, so I might be willing to come back, but everything else left me pretty disappointed.
