Absolutely Great Southern Chili Dogs. Classic old school, small town diner serving breakfast, plates at lunch, sandwiches, and some of the very best chili dogs you will find – anywhere. These are the traditional neon red weiners, and there very well may not be an ounce of beef of any kind in them. The bun is soft, almost gooey, but it is the chili that makes this a great hot dog. This is a very thick, meaty chili, much like that at Green’s Lunch in Charlotte – the result is a very heavy, very tasty dog. We ordered one all the way, and another without slaw, and both were excellent. I probably liked the slawless dog a little more without the sweetness to mute the taste of the chili. Green’s is my reference point for Southern Chili Dogs in this area, and Jones’ dog is almost that good.Service is fast and friendly; prices are reasonable. I came for the chili dog, and that is all I can speak to, but they are worth a visit if hot dogs are you thing, as they are mine
