Stopped for dinner last night and have to say that its original Cuban food with a flair for presentation with a flower made from carrots and sprigs on the white rice and a lettuce decoration for the Picadillo.We had Ropa Vieja, Picadillo, Black Bean and Rice which was delicious.The atmosphere was great with pictures of LaHabana and Matanzas and on the TVs various sites all of which brought great memories.
Poor service, Bad food. I have visited numerous Cuban restaurants and this by far is the worst. I ordered Pollo Asado which is supposed to be roasted and flavorful dish. I’m fairly concern this dish was cooked days ago and reheated to the point it was more like chicken jerky. Dry, flavorless, shoe leather. The rice and beans dish was cold. Did I fail to mention it took over 30 minutes to get this dish?? #re-dam-diculos #neveragain

Definately NOT a great Cuban restaurant.. Okay, let’s begin with the pedigree… I’m a Cuban from Miami, Florida that relocated to Charlotte. I’ve eaten at hundreds of Cuban restaurants and know what is good and what is bad.1. For all of you that are unsure, this is NOT good Cuban food.2. Cuban bread is supposed to be crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside.3. The portions (especially the black beans) were small as compared to Cuban food restaurants in Miami.4. The mojo (Spanish bar-b-que sauce) we Cubans love was overpowering.I’m not sure where everyone else that left a review ate, but I don’t think it was at Havana Carolina Caf. I suspect they are paid reviews.I’ll never go back again.
Loved it! Just like when we lived in south Florida.
What a little gem in downtown Concord. Great authentic Cuban food, I had the ropa vieja, my husband had the Cuban sandwich, both dishes were outstanding. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive, the owner is very nice and a great cook. I hope this place will be around a long time, I’ll definitely be back!!!
What a positive change comparing to piece of havana .service amazing food is great and most important stuff is attentive 2 thumbs way up
