Didn’t care for it. The other night we decided to order delivery from a Chinese restaurant we hadn’t tried yet, Ming Garden. The delivery order came very fast and the delivery guy was very polite and professional. The food was ok but probably not really good enough for us to order a second time. The egg rolls seemed frozen ( not homemade) and were nothing special. The fried pork dumplings were pretty good. The Crispy Shrimp dish was a disappointment. The fried shrimp themselves were fine, however, the red chili mango sauce tasted neither like red ch i nor mango. In fact, it tasted pretty much like warmed up duck sauce. The Beef Lo Mein was ok. The noodles and vegetables were good, but the pieces of beef had a spongey, greasy and unappettizing texture to them.
Food is Good but It Stops There. Decided to try Ming Garden for dinner tonight and unfortunately I was very disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, the food was good but the rest of the dinning experience just was not there.Supposedly this restaurant is Dine In or Take Out. The also offer delivery service for orders over $15.00. While we did dine in, it’s a big streatch to call it a Dine In Restaurant. There are only four small tables in the dining area with 4 chairs each. After you order from the counter, it’s obvious that they are for patrons waiting to take their food home and not for patrons wishing to enjoy thier food there. You start out by ordering from the Counter. there is a gallary of 20 photographs of different dishes above the counter. These are part of their signature dishes and not until later, do you find out what other items are available. You place your order, sit down and watch the delivery people and other people who have ordered take out, come and go. Sort of like ordering a Pizza from Domino’s and trying to eat it in the lobby. Eventually they bring the food to your talble along with disposable plastic ware. We both order tea and they brought it too us in liter containers that they had kept in the refirgerator. The large restaurant containers of sweet and unsweet tea you normally see in a restaurant were not in use so another indication that they are not really set up for Dine In.I had the Garlic Shrimp and my wife had the Orange Chicken. Both of us also had Fried Rice. Both are signature dishes and both are very good and sample portions are very substantial. All plates were disposable and confiments came in little packages. The plastic bowls our meals were served in had a dual functionality. When we left and ask for the remainder of our meal to be boxed, all they had to do was snap a lid on the bowl and it was ready to go. In other words, our serving bowls were the same bowls used in delivery.Seating is spartan and the sun is bliniding in the late afternoon with nothing on the windows to block of filter our the glare. Staff is nice, friendly and helpful but just not set up as a sit down restaurant. Our server was also the owner, head chef etc so there is really no dedicated wait staff.Food is very good but in the future, I would not even consider dining there. I’ll do take out or have it delivered but dining in is not an option.
