Really like the place. What can I say but it is a fun place with fun people. I really like the bartender Dave. You can meet some interesting folks there. I will be a regular as long as the keep Stella and Icehouse at the bar.
Dive … On In. A lot of people have described this place as a Dive and to some extent , it is.It’s part of one of the most eccelectic places in the Lake Norman Area. Two cousins who were Iranian Expatriates from Iran (they perferred to be called Persian) started what became one of the Best Wine Shops in the Lake Norman Area specializing in Fine Wines and a hugh selection of imported beer. They started in a Sunoco gas station and offered gas, fresh bait and a great selection of wine and beer from all over the world. And in the end, it still looked like a gas stations. Looks can be decieving. After a couple of years, they added Saeed’s in the back but from the beginning, there was an emphasis on the quality of the food.The cousins are no longer there but it’s passed on to other’s who are somehow related through the Persian community.The qualtiy of the food is still there but it’s overshadowed by the rest. It’s really lives up to the Dive … description but in a fun way. Pool tables, Karokae at night and what would pass for a good ole’ boy bar anywhere else.If you don’t like that atmosphere, drop in for lunch. The food is still great and a lot less noise. My favorite is the meat ball sub because the quality of the marinara sauce is incredible. The other sandwiches on the menu are incredible as well and a couple of them have a strong Persian or Armenian culinary flavor.Looks can be decieving but I would recommend giving it a try for something different.
