One thing we need in America is another national sandwich joint. I tried it anyhow and was shocked at how disappointed I was. About the only thing creative they are doing is reinventing the ordering process. Very confusing and clogged up the pickup line. I don’t get it and won’t be back intentionally. The food is standard. It’s not bad…it’s just another sandwich that tastes like a sandwich.
Check the box to make a sammy. I visited the Which Wich today and had to be given a quick course on how to order. You see, you grab a bag numbered according to the type of sandwich you want, and then make all of your choices on the bag. They make your sandwich and serve your sandwich right in the bag. It’s kind of genius.I had the Philly Cheesesteak with Provolone. They also have one with Cheese Whiz, but I can’t even imagine. I also added mayonnaise, which may sound weird but it was necessary. My sandwich was tasty, the meat was cooked nicely and chopped fine. I can’t tell you I haven’t ever had better, but it was very good and I’d go again. The staff here was kind, helping us order and giving us free large drinks since it was our first visit. After we talked for a while, one staffer even came and cleaned off our table for us. This place is akin to Firehouse and Jimmy John’s. Nothing fancy, but good.
1st time last time Birkdale. My 1st time there was nothing to brag about. I was there with co worker’s I being the only one of color had to purchase my drink with meal although some of my coworkers who also were there for first time got a free drink. The fact that I went back to tell them of their over site I was not offered a drink nor a refund for what I purchased. Thanks but no thanks.
Nope…not for us!. Lets start by saying how excited we were to come to Which wich?…well that ended quickly! place is small, so you cram in to order your sandwich on a tiny table top. 1 adult and 3 kids $$ over $35..now that wouldn’t be to bad IF the kids sandwich was more that 3 inches, a juice box and a rice krispy prepackaged treat(yuck) which was missing from my kids bag anyway!. I ordered the Caprese sandwich and it was MISSING the pesto and mozzarella cheese…kinda funny if the ice machine wasnt broken as it was 97′ that day! and sweet tea was warm! GAG! and Dr Pepper was missing the syrup….all in all a very very bad experience. My kids were still hungry at this point .
Love their sandwiches!. Let me start by saying that I’m not really a fan of sandwiches. I just think they are kind of boring. But Which Wich has definitely won me over! There are so many choices for different sandwiches, and the prices are really good. I’m hooked on the tomato avocado veggie sandwich – it’s loaded with avocado, and I’m thrilled that hummus is an available topping (at no charge). Which Wich serves their vegetarian clientele very well. Other than my favorite, there are several other veggie sandwich options, like the tomato caprese or the Mediterranean, as well as several seafood options. For meat eaters, the choices are unbelievable. My hubby favors the Wicked – it’s loaded with five meats (pre-selected) and three cheeses (you select). Olive spread is another available topping, and it works really well on this sandwich. If you haven’t been to Which Wich before, I strongly urge you to check out the menu on their website before going. That will help navigate the vast menu and all the condiment options. I appreciate that when you arrive, you step over to the side to place your order on a bag. That way, you are not holding up the line while making your selections. When you’re ready, you give the bag to the cashier to ring you up, and then wait for your sandwich to be made.We tried a vanilla milkshake with banana on our last visit, and it was good but a bit pricey ($3.50). Even so, we’ll probably get one again, ha ha.Which Wich is a great addition to Birkdale, with reasonable prices and great food. I’m hooked!
Great sandwiches, wish they had wraps as an option.
Great Sandwich and Innovative Concept. Went for dinner for the first tonight and was very favorablly impressed. The sandwiches are made to order any way you want them and the way they do it is so much more effective than other Sub and Sandwich shops. It starts out like buying a self serve lottery ticket except that the choices are printed on a sandwich bag. The choices are many and while you specify the basic sandwich, you can also specify type bread, toasted/untoasted, extra meat cheese, type of meats, dressing and so on and so on.I had a Mufaletta and my wife had a Turkey with Dressing and Cranberries (Thanksgiving already) I said they were innovated. The Mufaletta was excellent but not quite to New Orleans expectations. Probably not fair ordering a regional specialty from NOLA in the Carolina’s. Not quite there but it was a good sandwich anyway. My wife’s Turkey et al, at least according to her was fantastic. The qualtiy of the food is great. Very little interaction with the staff but what we did have was good. Only problem we had was that you have to pick up your order at the end of the counter when it is ready and they have no good mechanism to let you know it;s ready so everything just sit there till you get up and check for it. Could be better. All in all, it’s a good shop. Food is excellent and we will be back.
