This ice cream shop truly represents its name. The ice cream is thick without being overly rich, and they have unique flavors. I got a scoop and my husband got a milkshake. We both loved what we got!
AMAZING. There is nothing like this ice cream. The texture is perfect. It’s not runny like a frosty from Wendy’s or the custard at Goodberry’s, but not rock hard like something that’s been sitting in the freezer for years. The best part is that the hand-dipped creamy texture doesn’t change after refrigerating your leftovers. You can pull out your pint the next day and it tastes like you just had it dipped. I highly recommend the Dutch Chocolate or Cookie Dough flavors! I buy a pint ($5-ish) at a time and it serves me at least three times because the flavor is rich enough that you don’t need to scarf down the whole container in one go. Sometimes the server is monotone, but is perfectly polite and gives good service!

Best Kept Secret in Raleigh. The best place to get ice cream in Raleigh, in my opinion, is over on Glenwood Avenue at Fresh Local Ice Cream. It’s in the Oak Park Shopping Center and next door to Taverna Agora. I love their maple-walnut ice cream and milk shakes. When I’m driving down Glenwood, my car just automatically turns in to Fresh Local. Love it!!!!They also have hot dogs and lemonade.
As though delicious ice cream wasn’t enough – they now have amazing local all beef hot dogs. And for those who prefer lighter fare, they have turkey and veggie dogs. The bf and I are divided about whether their regular or sweet potato fries are better. Check them out!!
