Eh. Good for drinks. I like Genos because if you come before late night no one is ever there. The bar service is not great, no one ever seems like they want you to be there but I like being left alone so it works for me. Like the cabiny feel, it’s cozy to drink at. The food is crappy but I wouldn’t complain about it if it were priced accordingly (it is very overpriced).The only thing I wanted to say really is PLEASE clean your bathrooms and tabletops! Come on take some pride in your establishment.
Worst food and Service ever in the area. Ordered a mixed drink, had to order more ice, not cold, the ordered the burger sliders and fries all the while asking that the fries be limp not crispy. Oh yes bartender said that was possible. It took 35 minutes it get the sliders, the meat was 1/2 inch pure black on the bottom, tasted like yesterday left over cooked burger that was reheated to burnt and the fries we hard and crispy. The bartender brought another slider out but it took another 35 minutes to appear. They never asked if I wanted another drink . The topper was that we were almost the first ones in the establishment at 5:30 pm and the womens toilets were both stopped up. The absolute worst ever dinning or bar experience ever. They need all new staff and someone who cares about food and drink service. There is no reason for any of this to happen to anyone in the future.So wake up owners, you need to fix this NOW.
Love this place!!. I started going to geno’s as soon as it opened and it is by far my favorite bar in Boone. The atmosphere is very laid back and the owner always comes by and greets customers personally. I have had several food items there and all of them have been great! I do and will continue this place to all of my friends!
New favorite. My girlfriend and I have been to Genos several times now and have to say it is my first choice in Boone. The bartenders Brian and Nate were both extremely friendly and the service was prompt. So far I have tried the wings, jalapeo poppers and Philly cheese steak and have enjoyed each one! There is a nice big back deck to go out on if you want to be outside or to smoke. They have a ton of tvs to watch the games on. I highly recommend it for anyone from or visiting boon
Worst Dining Experience in Boone. Worst dining experience I have ever had in Boone, probably anywhere. Food was over-priced and not even edible. I mean, a grilled chicken salad with a ground-up chicken patty, pre-cooked chicken tenders not even completely thawed… come on. Worse than the food was the incredibly rude and slow wait staff. I live in the area and will be sure to tell everyone I know to stay away unless you ONLY want to drink beer and watch football.
Not a place to eat!. Do NOT go here unless all you are seeking is the NFL ticket while out of town. The menu descriptions were way off base, what was described on the menu was not only not what ended up in front of us but we asked for clarification by the waitress on some of the dishes- and she didn’t know either, they messed up all of our order-the soda was flat, the fries tasted days old and even when we ordered a potato fritter, and it was a jalapeo popper we were still charged even though we COULDN’T eat it. Basically the only thing they didnt mess up was my beer. And as if the whole experience wasn’t strange enough- the owner/manager sat at a booth cheering on a football team and downing multiple beers instead of dealing with obviously dis-satisfied customers (Not to mention I posted a review to their Facebook page and they deleted it).
Oct. 2012. I was excited to see that Geno’s was reopening with the lack of true sports bars in Boone. We went there to watch the USA Soccer match. When I try a new place I usually give it a couple tries before making it a regular dinner location or giving up altogether. Well, unfortunately, I would say that this is strike one. While we were appreciative that they put the game on for us, the food and the service did not live up to my expectations at all. Our waitress seemed to be new so I will give her a pass on that but she was very passive, went long periods without checking on us, forgot to enter one of our food items and didn’t seem to know the menu at all. I don’t go light on a tip unless the service is really lacking but I went light on the tip this time. She simply didn’t deserve it. That brings me to the food. I had a meatball sub. The meatballs were huge and there was very little sauce on it. The cheese was barely melted as well. While the meatballs had good flavor it really was nothing like I was hoping for. My wife’s cheesesteak was ok. The kids meals were ok as well but there are other restaurants I would go to for a good bar type meal before going back to Geno’s.I give Geno’s a solid B for atmosphere. There are a ton of TVs and a good selection of beers on tap. I will give Geno’s another try or two before I give up but my expectations have unfortunately been lowered for my next visit.Disappointed.
