Keep in mind I’m a coffee snob so I try to visit locally owned coffee shops when I travel. This place has potential. They have single origin beans but in large glass containers that are not sealed and there is no roast date. They have a crappy grinder. I will excuse the flavored coffees. The house blend has 4 coffees. It was not bitter and was clean but tasted a bit flat and underextracted- Idk if it was old beans, crappy batch brewer, improper water temp or what but I could taste some decent coffee here. With the right equipment and some training, this would be a great place- they source their beans from a specialty roaster in Marion-they need to do them justice. As for the espresso drinks, they have every frufru flavor imaginable- I get it, it’s the only way for a coffee place to stay afloat in a small town.
Best coffee shop I’ve been in to date. I’ve been looking for a replacement ever since I moved to Raleigh for school. Still looking… They have great drinks, but I usually go for the daily flavored drip coffee. If not, the turtle and the tuxedo are great. I spent a huge amount of time in here in high school, and definitely considered myself a regular. Easily one of the top four defining locations of my youth.
Little gem. Cozy coffee shop tucked away in a shopping plaza. They sell an assortment of fantastic coffee beans in an array of delightful flavors. Lots of great choices on the menu for coffees, teas, smoothies etc. They sell bluebell ice cream, espresso beans and pastries too! Great little gem of a coffee place. Totally under rated in my opinion!
Good Coffee….what else can I say?
