Easily one of the best moderately priced places to eat in Boone. A rarity in the area, Joy Bistro can make a good cocktail. The food was all prepared well and teeters on taking their cuisine to the next level. I tried their pte choux gnocchi, or Parisian gnocchi as it is more commonly known (which is an odd description as most people down here have a hard enough time pronouncing gnocchi correctly let alone pte choux). The dish had a nice mix of bacon, cheese, butter and oil and while tasty, it really screamed for some acid to help cut through the five layers of fat. The salad was spot on, lightly dressed and ample. The burger and pomme terre was very good. Cooked exactly as requested the smokey Gouda and bacon added a nice heft to the dish.Service was knowledgeable and quick , their recommendations were strong, a little more balance in some dishes and giving each protein a unique side will take Joy Bistro to the haute cuisine tier. If in Boone I have to recommended this place.
Visited Joy Bistro with a friend and my wife. Wonderful experience. Never Again. Way over priced, waitress and waiter talked more to each other.Both of us were served a huge bowl of way too much butter or fake butter.

A++. We have eaten there several times while visiting our daughter at ASU. It is the PERFECT place to dine in Boone. Great wines and bar, Food is consistently interesting and delicious and service is wonderful. Highly recommend this restaurant.
