Our first time here and will be many more dining to come. My hubby had the Naan Cuban sandwich, it was delicious I know because I had a bite. I had the Blackened Goat Burger and I can say that burger was moist and delicious too. While I’m writing this I’m eating the Carolina Beignets drinking coffee and it is a great sime ending to a wonderful meal. Can’t wait to return to eat a different meal.
The Boonie Burger. Fresh Juicy Burger with Smoked Pimento Cheese, Fried Green Tomato and dill cole slaw03 Dec, 2014Drunkin’ Mussels. Mussels with garlic confit-white wine and butter sauce. Tossed with diced tomatoes and served with toasted sliced bread
Neat place to eat. The OG burger was exceptional. Meat was cooked perfectly. Server, Micharl, was attentive and efficient. An enjoyable experience.
Great server. Michael was our server tonight and he was knowledgable, fun and helpful. Food was excellent. Great place to dine.
I seriously love this place!! The Local used to be Char, which I never went to. But since it’s change, I’ve been at least four times–probably more frequently than any other place in Boone. I have NEVER–I repeat, NEVER–been disappointed there! The food is absolutely incredible. I’ve gotten the Jimmi’s Chimmis, the Brazilian steak (best cooked steak I’ve had in Boone), the Boone Philly, and The Best Brussel Sprouts (which really do live up to their name). I’ve also tried my friends’ Basil Pesto Pasta, The Goat Burger, and sweet potato fries. All of it was amazing. Tonight, we went for their $7 pizza and a pint night (also their 1/2 price cocktails night). Our server Shelley was the nicest and most accommodating!! The service at The Local is always great. She was really interested in what we ordered so that she could recommend it to other patrons. Which, by the way, the Debutante Cosmo and The French are GREAT cocktails. And they have Guinness on tap, which is hard to find in Boone, as well as a great selection of NC beers, which my best friend LOVES! Basically, if you go to The Local, you’re good to walk away wowed by way more than the incredible Doc Watson mural. Did I mention they sponsor poetry jams??? In Boone!? #win Hands down, this place is the best restaurant in downtown Boone, and in my book ties with Coyote Kitchen for best in Boone. As I write this review they have a 100% approval rating. Come on! You gotta give it a try.
