I am not a happy customer. I went to the back yard BBQ pit, I had the oxtails, mac and cheese and GREENS!!!!!!!!!! I was nearly completing my food and there was some type of bug in my food. I have photos I tried contacting the restaurant to speak with the owner but they were closed. I will be calling again as soon as they are open. I am not very happy after reading so many good reviews even being highly recommended. I will be making this experience well known @backyardbbqpit
Not sure this is a BBQ place. I order the ribs and brisket 2 meat combo it comes with 2 sides. The brisket was made in slow cooker like a pot roast. It was good. But not bbq at all. The ribs were also made in slow cooker and then cover in bbq sause. Very disappointed was hoping for some great Carolina bbq.
Was Very. Disappointed. When I walked in, the server was not friendly at all. The young man gave me the ugliest ribs with all the fat, when I asked for the small lean ones that was there. Then he slapped on the mac and cheese with cheese running down the side of the take out box. Then he added the greens, the juice from the greens ran into the Mac and cheese. The hush puppies were yelling loudly because they were hard and dry.
Smokin Hot Review. Was in RTP for some training recently, just saw the place and dropped in for lunch. Our timing was great – stepped right up and ordered. Within minutes this place was packed with a line almost to the door. They have a very limited menu – which I appreciate – and the food was great. I’m pretty critical on BBQ and smoked meats – as this is one of my personal hobbies/skills. The Mac’n’Cheese was fantastic, really complimented the meal. Service was good – this is a very basic down to earth place – don’t look for fancy just good solid BBQ – I’ll be back.
Really Bad Ribs. Looked online today for the best rib joint in the Durham area. Backyard Barbeque Pit does NOT live up to reviews. The ribs were inedible!!! There was no way to eat them!! The meat was exceptionally tough. The service was good, but the food– not so much.
Outstanding, I’m from Kansas City and I know my q. After being disappointed with The Pit and Q-shack this place restored my faith that NC can throw down. Go for the pork and slaw.
