Very acceptable Mexican. Opted for the Shrimp el diablo (spicy shrimp) to avoid the queso (although said to be exceptional, gotta watch those calories). Seated promptly and with courtesy although traveling alone. Usual chips and salsa, the chips delicate, crispy and warm as expected. Main course a delicious plate of food; two dozen medium shrimp in moderately spicy sauce (not bland but not killer) with fluffy Mexican rice and creamy refrained beans . Juan, my server, was quite attentive. A good midpoint stop on my travels, will return.
Where its all the nice staff, bad service!
Not so good anymore, we use to love the service when the big guy was there!not coming back soon!
The most delicious chicken soup. I have already been back and this is my third day in Durham!
Now el corral is re-open
Standard Mexican food nothing stellar.
Not bad, not great. The best way to describe El Corral is to say that it isn’t bad and isn’t going to rock your world, but is just decent Mexican food, a bit overpriced perhaps, but the waitstaff makes up for that in being super friendly and helpful. They were also good at accommodating my vegetarian request, even though they weren’t on the menu. The veggie fajitas were tasty, although the rice and beans were a bit mushy for my taste. Overall, I think I will stick with my addiction to El Rodeo in Brightleaf, but it is worth trying for yourself.
