Went for Sunday brunch. Forget that the food is really good and fairly priced. This is just a fun place to grab a bite and hang out…..on the patio, porch, front yard, inside etc. You had better be hungry. I was worried when I pulled up and saw the huge parking lot so full…but this place packs’em in and has room for everyone. Ended up out on the patio and had an enjoyable meal. Omlettes are huge. This place is somewhere between unique and eclectic. If you go you will want to return. Recommend.
OK…checked it off the bucket list. Went here on a Sunday afternoon on recommendation from my foodie son. Stuck to the sandwich menu due to the crowd. The idea of an hour wait sitting on a wooden bench was not appealing. The place is, shall we say, rustic. And noisy. The process is you stand in line to order at the counter, then find a seat anywhere you can…if you can find a clean, vacant table. Then the food runners run around inside and outside yelling out your name and hopefully, they find you before everything gets cold. Drinks are self-service. Sandwiches came out in about 15 minutes. The Cubano was good, but a little different in that they used pulled pork instead of sliced pork roast. Still, very tasty. Then you clear your own table and stand in line at the cash register. Prices for what we had were about average. Food was good, but the process needs work.
The Best. Love everything about it! Love to go for breakfast – great omelets, great scones, delicious grits!
The Breakfast Burrito wasn’t too big, wasn’t too small, it was just the right size for me… If you know what I mean
The spot you always want to find. It seems like your always looking for that cool place when traveling, well this is it. Order the pickle tray and be sure to try the pickled watermelon. You pick your own veggies for the tray and it arrives paired with a scoop of the most delicious pimento cheese. Everything Is fresh, unique and really good. Excellent sandwich board, daily specials and more. Our family will be back next year when visiting the area!
Great for sunny days. Other reviews are spot on. This place is above average, really good sandwiches (I haven’t tried brunch but now I can’t wait to!) and I have always had pleasant service, though it is a bit pricey. Still, I love to eat and read at the picnic tables outside. A great afternoon spot!
Very Good, Not Great. Foster’s Market was the first place we headed for lunch when we moved to Durham this Fall. Love the market itself and the outdoor dining, charming for sure. Ordering food at the counter was hectic to say the least, with all the people and commotion. Our food came out wrong and I wasn’t surprised. The Italian grinder was average, Jammin’ turkey breast sandwich very good, pimiento dijon pasta salad good, and the black eyed pea sweet potato salad very good. It was strange, though, that everything we ordered seemed on the sweet side; even the grinder could have used some acid. We will definitely return, maybe next time for breakfast or brunch. The pastries looked amazing!
