Had dinner here tonight! Portions somewhat small but was excused by superior tasting food! Service was five star! I will say they need to learn how to make tea but maybe it was a fluke. Didn’t try dessert but I wanted too! You’ve got to try this place excellent! Also the free bread appetizer is awesome with the olive oil plate they make to dip the bread in.
We had a birthday dinner for my daughter tonight that really was quite pathetic at a cost of $200 (no wine) for 4 adults and 3 children. The chopped salad – excellent, the baked ziti – pitiful, the gnocchi/sausage – mushy, the veal parmigiana – overcooked and tough. the tilapia – little overcooked but pretty good. We have been going to Maggiano’s in Denver since the mid 1990s and it was great, but the last few years in Durham NC, it sucks. In Durham it gets worse every time we go. This is definitely the last time here.
Went for our anniversary . The food was unremarkable. The steak was of very poor quality and the mashed potatoes that accompanied it were not even as good as instant.
The decor is nice and the food is good. But over the past 10 years, food quality has gone down, portion sizes have gone down and prices are way up. We used to feed our family for under $30, now it’s closer to $70.
Eat here often and food is consistently good but not great. tonight’s experience felt very rushed, no time to enjoy cocktail before ordering. plates whisked off table the moment last bite taken. not leasant tonight.
The mushroom veal ravioli was amazing. My wife is gluten free and she had plenty to choose from . Overall a great dining experience for 2 for under $50.
Decent but soo bad for you. Good food, good service, reasonable prices. I just can’t go anymore because I can’t justify 5000 calories for spaghetti and meatballs. I just can’t.
