Wow! I had the Carolina burger, which was topped with chili and slaw. It was amazing. The slaw was still crisp, the chili was super tasty, and the burger was thin, but still juicy and not a well-done hockey puck. As my side I got the bacon-wrapped macaroni and cheese squares, which were not too cheesy or ultra greasy. It took something that sounded impossible to do well and did it extraordinarily. I will definitely be back!
Fantastic burger. The Raleigh area is blessed with a lot of good burger places, and some great burger places. This is a great burger place. Not a lot of atmosphere, but you come here for the burgers, not for the service. The service isn’t bad, as it is self service and there are a LOT of choices to make your perfect burger, and since a lot of people have trouble deciding on what they want when the are given several choices sometimes the ordering process can be slow. It’s also not fast food, as they won’t be starting on your masterpiece until you order it, so it will take a few minutes. The few minutes are definitely worth the wait. Great burger. The meat and everything that goes into the burger are top notch. Wish there were more places like this that concentrate on the food rather than clever slogans and marketing. This is an honest to goodness burger joint where you can get a combo – burger, fries and a drink for $7.50 plus tax. The single burger isn’t huge (but by no means small), but is beefy (or a turkey patty) and satifying. When you finish it all you won’t feel overstuffed, but will be very satisfied. Again great place!
Awesome. Only Burger has the best burger I have tasted in a while. Good service, plus, …….the Jalepeno Popper. What a side dish! Worth the drive from Raleigh to the Restaurant, now I just have to find the truck, I am hungry now just thinking about it.
Fully and unreservedly satisfied with the burger and fries. Only complaint, I ate most of it with a fork due to the ginormous oozing mound of beef, provolone, grilled onions, fried egg and chipotle ranch dressing. Did I say awesome? I shall return!
It Is All In The Name. This is simply the very best $5.25 burger I’ve ever had – very well maybe the best burger at any price – their burger makes 5 Guys look loke 5 Wimps, and it is less expensive, and it comes WITH A SIDE.. The meat is super tasty with some nice grease, the bun is toasted in butter, the lettuce and tomato nice and fresh – have no idea where they got a tomato that tastes that good this time of year. The side we chose was Fried Onion Rings – crispy with plenty of onion flavor. This is a new place, with typical fast food ordering process, and they cook the burger to order, so it will take a few moments, but more than worth it. They only serve burgers, onion rings, fries, and drinks. They do list a Lamb Burger with the nice cucumber sauce – I might try it next time, but only in addition to a cheeseburger – my moma didn’t raise no fool, no matter how much my father doubted it.
http://anotherdayinparadisewithdaveandlisa.blogspot.com/2011/02/four-mile-mike-and-lamb-sliders-only.html. Just down the road in Durham is something that has to be tasted to be believed: the lamb slider with tzatziki sauce and feta cheese at Only Burger. Brian and his staff have been the recipients of much attention before and not just from me. Her Imperial Majesty and I were big fans when he was just a food truck with an avid following. Apparently, the avid following has grown and he’s added a brick and mortar location to augment his mobile empire. What always worked in a gyro, works even better in burger form. The balance of the tzatziki sauce with pungent feta against the lamb is incredible. They were also serving a Reuben burger with corned beef, slaw, pickle and Russian dressing which was good. The addition of the pickle, which is not traditionally on a Reuben sandwich, was a nice touch and added a bit of acid to balance the flavor.05 Oct, 2010Only Burger — find it and get in line. The best food truck in The Triangle for my money is Only Burger. Everything made fresh to order, with toppings that run the gamut from the standard to the over the top. Parked in front of the Durham Farmer’s Market one Saturday, Her Imperial Majesty, Her Imperial Majesty Junior and I feasted on burgers for breakfast. Junior had hers with ketchup. Mine was done up Carolina style, with chili, mustard, onions and slaw. My beloved went all out, doing a proper breakfast burger, decked out with a fried green tomato, pimento cheese, and an over easy egg. It sounded ridiculous. It tasted ridiculously good. So good in fact, I went back for my own.Do I recommend it? Absolutely, if, of course, you can track it down. It is a truck after all and trucks have wheels, so it moves around. The best way to do that is to follow them on twitter. And be prepared for lines ten deep that last for hours. It’s that good.
A Great Burger. Last night Only Burger rolled up to Raleigh for First Friday. The night’s special was a Fried Green Tomato, Egg, Pimento Cheese Burger… which I had two of. The cheese acted more as a delicious sauce than an overwhelming condiment. My first burger’s tomato was small than the second, which I think worked better. And the fries were perfect. Thinly cut, well but not overly seasoned.Nolan, who took the order, was a great chat, besides.Get back to Raleigh soon, Only Burger.
