Super Awful for Vegetarians. This is actually the first place I ever ate in Durham and I could barely eat anything. Their vegetables were simply not fresh and their buffet salad bar was sad.
Good country food in a mall? Yes.. It’s a weird name and location for sure, but the food is for real. Biscuits, gravy, and home fries for breakfast and a big lunch buffet with meat loaf, fried fish, fried chicken, greens, pinto beans, cornbread, and all kinds of Southern meats and vegetables. The people are really friendly, it’s clean with a 95 sanitation score, and the iced tea is good. It’s hard to find good Southern food that isn’t barbeque in the Triangle, but this is the real thing and cheap at that (all you can eat lunch $8, dinner $12). They dish up the plates of whatever you point at, so it’s a lot more sanitary and palatable than watching some obnoxious kid standing at the buffet and licking mashed potatoes off his finger at Golden Corral. There is no way this place shouldn’t be packed other than it sounds like a food court bourbon chicken Chinese place.
