The worst restaurant, let alone vietnamese restaurant. This food is terrible. Wilted, skimpy portions of vegetables accompany pitifully greasy and overly salted pho. Their bun is nothing but wilted, browning carrot shreds from a bag, old iceberg lettuce, sticky noodles, cold and burnt meat, and disgusting sauce. HORRIBLE. This food shouldn’t be eaten, even if it was free and you were starving. Also, the service is unbelievably offensive. The severs/owners are angry, condescending, hateful… ugh. Really, this place is only worth visiting if you work in the industry and would like a field trip to demonstrate EXACTLY what no to do.
They use white meat and enough greens to justify a lunch about once a week. Today the chicken was undercooked leftover dark meat with fat and the dish was so salty, that none of us could eat it. Surprised we did not get sick from the bit we ate. They did not even offer anything to apologize and we paid for the crap they served today. Not going there again.
Cold day bowl of Pho. My first Pho experience. I ordered the small well done pho, the pork and shrimp spring rolls and the egg rolls with fish sauce (a sweet sauce that is very good). I split the spring rolls and egg rolls with my friend and ate the entire GIANT bowl of pho and was full for the remainder of the day! Great place to go on a cold day to warm up!
Psychotic waiter. Been there several time in the past. However on my last I walked out. There was the most psychotic waiter I’ve ever experienced. He got into an argument with a couple a few tables down from us. His behavior was rude and aggressive and actually frightening. Our order had not arrived – when the couple walked out so did we. Will not be going back.
Restaurant closes at 9PM. Wouldn’t serve me at 8:31.. The food was decent not the best Vietnamese Ive had but not the worst either. The customer service, however, was terrible. I was driving through the Triangle and found this place on Google maps. The restaurant closes at 9PM. I walked in, by myself at 8:31, to find the restaurant had no other customers. That should have been my first clue. I sat down and was told that after 8:30 they only served take out. I explained that I was by myself and could eat quickly and would be long gone by 9PM. I was ordering soup, so it would have taken me maybe 10 minutes to scarf it down before hitting the road again? It didnt matter; they refused to let me sit in their restaurant. I walked out the door at 8:40 and had to eat my soup in my car in their parking lot. Managing a retail store myself, I understand the challenges of customers wanting to stay past operating hours but this experience was beyond ridiculous. Unfortunately it doesnt look like Durham has many other options for Vietnamese food so this place will probably continue to get some business regardless of how they treat their customers but it doesnt appear to have a strong customer base (and now I see why!)
The pho had good flavor but I thought they were a little stingy on the meat portions. I guess the table next to me had been here before since all 4 of them ordered pho with extra meat. I’m also used to seeing more combination options. There is one option that comes with pretty much every meat but other than that you are limited to just one meat option per bowl unless you order and pay extra.
Terrible food. This is the worst excuse for Vietnamese food I have ever had. I come from a city where there are many Viet restaurants and I promise you, this place wouldn’t stay open 2 months there. Really, really terrible. If you eat this and you like it, well, I can’t say much for your tastes, but you would like authentic Vietnamese food even more. This place is a scam operation, trying to act like they serve Vietnamese food when it’s actually not, or a bad imitation of it. I wonder if the owners are actually Vietnamese people …It is right down the road from my job but I never, ever, ever consider going there for lunch. Nasty!I hope the owner reads this – you know how bad you are, and you know you are shortchanging your customers. You should be ashamed.
