10/18: One of the best french place I have been recently by all standards. I tried patte and Con Au Vin here on a Saturday night, it was just too delicious. Chicken was so tender and the sauce around it was amazing. Highly recommend this place if you want to try authentic french food at good considerable price.
Loved it!
Best area bistro food. We had a delightful meal at Rue Cler on a whim. We’ve been several times, and the prix fixe menu continues to provide excellent food at a fair price. Tonight, my wife and I had two different salads, both tasty and crisp. My 2nd course was a great duck confit crepe, my wife asparagus and Bernaise sauce. Our mains were scallops (sooooooo good), and a flank steak my wife seemed to like. Nice blueberry crepe dessert. Good service. Small but well chosen wine list. Noisy, but not awful. Highly recommended. We’ll be back!
My husband took me to here for Valentine’s day and everything was simply deliciuos! I can’t wait to go back and try more dishes.
Although I was looking forward to eating at Rue Cler, I have to say that I was very disappointed! I ordered the Croque Monsieur and the bread crust was extremely hard. In fact, I’m surprised I didn’t break a tooth on it! The attentive waitress saw that I was having trouble cutting into it, so was kind enough to bring me a steak knife. However, I still had to saw the bread with force! I mean, who has to use a steak knife to eat a Croque Monsieur? Have you not heard of buttering the bread liberally so that it soaks into the bread like they do in Paris? I would suggest to anyone who is craving a good Croque Monsieur, to bypass Rue Cler, and get a good cookbook and make one at home, that doesn’t threaten your dental work! C’mon Rue Cler, you can do much better!
Excellent Weekend Brunch. I’ve had weekday lunch and numerous weekend brunches here. The food is always.. ALWAYS incredible, great service – we enjoy sitting at the bar. Great attentive staff. I’d eat here weekly if I could.
Very nice, very good value. I had a lightly dressed frissee salad, hand cut pasta with mushrooms and a spiced rubbed pork chop. Each was very well balanced and restrained (for French).
