Sarah’s serves some really good empanadas. The flavours are delicious and pie is perfectly baked. I recommend the corn & cheese empanadas. Their salsa/dip is perfectly made. The place gets very busy at lunch time and it is difficult to get a refill on you drinks.
I have been enjoying Sara’s empanadas since they first started serving them in 1988. They are delicious and authentic examples of Bolivian empanadas. If you want or are expecting Mexican empanadas, may i suggest that you look elsewhere or come with an open mind.The ambiance is simple yet pleasant. Service is swift and friendly. The menu is short, but the empanadas are wonderful. I always have difficulty making a choice. My favorites are probably the veggie ones, especially the corn. The price is reasonable as well. Great place for lunch!It’s also great to be able to purchase the empanadas frozen to take home with you. Wonderful to have them on hand for a fantastic, fast, and fun dinner!
Beef and cheese followed by chicken and cheese. Side order of 1/2 beans @ 1/2 rice. Will go back. Fast service. Only open for lunch. Why do I need a 140 characters to say this place is great?
This is one of the best gritty lunch spots in the whole RTP area. Expecting a trendy celebrity chef inspired foodie hangout? You’ll be disappointed. This place is a total dive with exceptional authentic Bolivian empanadas, daily fresh juice specials, daily soup specials, South American sodas, and impressive homemade salsa. I highly recommend the spicy cheese and the corn and cheese empanadas. The two owners are there every day they’re open- Sarah usually doesn’t say much but will walk around the dining room floor and occasionally point at things. You won’t be disappointed, I’ve been eating here for 12+ years.
Empanadas remain consistently delicious. Wait staff quick. Price remains reasonable. Can’t get enough of the salsa. Recently tried soup of the day. #gimmerecipenow I am now a soup lover. Thanks Sarah and crew!
The best food in RTP. Sarah’s always has great service and even better food. I always get their creamed corn empanada and it is to die for literally. I also love their 1/2 and 1/2 side which is re fried beans and rice. Their flan is also top notch.
