We weren’t very impressed with Skewers, though we tried to be. Pros:The servers were nothing but nice. Some of the food was excellent. Specifically, the chicken on the tikka skewers was great. The seasoned fries are also quite good.Cons:There were quite a few things wrong with our experience. Though the servers were nice, they were inattentive. We had to ask for water refills (they were never offered). We waited a very long time for our food. The chairs we sat in were falling apart. At one point, both of our servers were out on the front porch chatting with regulars. We still didn’t have our food at that point and our drinks were empty. The server handed us our silverware with some curly black hairs attached. We waited a normal amount of time for our check, but we were ignored. We eventually asked the lady behind the counter for our check. Overall, we did not enjoy Skewers and would not return. The regulars seemed to enjoy it (and got better service), so perhaps it’s just not the place for us.
Stopped by here tonight as it is directly across from my hotel. I admit I was a little concerned walking in. However, my meal was prepared fresh and was amazing! The seasoned green beans were to die for! The tikka on the chicken was very good and the rice was even spectacular! I will definitely be back in the very near future! The staff was very friendly, helpful, and explained everything more than once without hesitation! Do not miss this gem!

GREAT FOOD and CUSTOMER SERVICE. My Friend Wanda is a regular at Bread and Kabob and has taken all of her staff there for lunch and or dinner, graduation parties, etc exposing us to the culture. In addition to loving the food the customer service is unbelievable the staff gracefully explain the menu if you have a question about the food and make excellent suggestions according to your likes.YOU HAVE TO TRY IT – thanks Wanda and the Management and staff of Bread and Kabob –
Casual Afghani food at a great price…. Bread & Kabob re-opened after a long hiatus and you know what? It was worth the wait! I’ve eaten here a couple of times off their buffet which is small but wonderfully delicious. Think smoky, stewed spinach, chickpeas, chicken korma and fluffy biryani. Everything I’ve eaten here has been simple but full of flavor. Add in the interesting Afghani bread and you’ve got yourself a belly-busting meal. Off of the buffet I’ve done their beef kabobs which are also delicious. Inside decor is casual and evolving since they recently re-opened. And as a family-run restaurant, Bread & Kabob has a great homey feel. Take advantage of this fantastic little ethnic eatery, I’m pretty sure you’ll be impressed. nctriangledining.com
