I almost needed a hand truck to roll me outta here! Excellent tapas….. As well as larger servings too! My group of four ate just about everything on the menu…. As usual! The specials board was also extensive and we had several from that board as well. We put quite a dent in the AmEx, but could have stopped a little shorter…. I really did eat way too much! But every dish was so flavorful, so expertly prepared, I just couldn’t stop myself. At a little over 200.00 for drinks and dinner, I expected a little better service-not the waiter’s fault…, the kitchen was very busy during our visit and we spaced out our tapas order. Still my wife waited so long for two of her dishes, we were about to give up and go home…ever the optimist, she asked about them and the waiter looked like he may have forgotten to drop them…thankfully the sangria was flowing and the ladies didn’t seem to mind. As the DD, I was running low on patience since I had eaten myself uncomfortable….. Seems more common than not! I would seek this quaint,busy spot again when I’m in the triangle…. But I PROMISE to not eat everything on the menu…. My advice to you as well!

Whether you love tapas or have a special affinity for Paella, they have what you need. Everything we tried was absolutely delicious. I will most certainly be returning to work my way through the menu.Even the drink specials and wine list were better than expected. Do yourself a favor and pay them a visit. You won’t be sorry!
Getting better all the time!. Outpacing Mateo on service, atmosphere & traditional tapas these days… more value & a comfortable cozy atmosphere! This place got off to a slower start than their competition last year, but they are more than making up for it now. Not pretentious or overpriced. Will be back!
A fun experience. First, the bacon-wrapped, pecan and manchego-stuffed dates are to die for. I’ll bet you can’t eat just one.I’ve been here twice with groups and both times had a great time drinking some good Spanish wine and tasting a number of delicious dishes. It’s really fun going in a big group, where each person orders something different and you share it all among the group (really, the whole idea of the place).The service is helpful, prompt, and friendly. The prices are very reasonable, including wine by the bottle.
Great food! Great atmosphere!. My boyfriend and I ended up here after finding out Mateo had an hour wait to be seated. Taberna only had a couple customers, which made us weary, but we were hungry so we went inside. We ordered the bacon wrapped dates, croquettas, roasted chicken paella, serrano ham wrapped asparagus, and the gambas a la plancha. My boyfriend lived in Spain for awhile, so he is a pretty good critic as to the authenticity of the food, and I am just a good ol’ foodie 🙂 The verdict: we loved it. Although the paella isn’t prepared the traditional way, the owner has plans to change that. Everything was hot, flavorful, and delicious! Give this place a try! They now serve beer ( Estrella on draft), wine, and some liquor!
