The Durham Melting Pot is a fondue restaurant that specializes in capturing the ultimate dining experience. My wife and I moved to Durham in 2006 from Tucson, Arizona, to build and open the restaurant. As local franchisees we are involved in the operation of the restaurant on a daily basis and appreciate it when our guests provide us with feedback that helps us provide a better experience. We specialize in providing four course dining experiences, however how many courses you enjoy is completely up to you. The first course is typically the cheese fondue, which is served with bread, apples and vegetables for dipping. The cheese and all the ingredients are brought to your table and melted right in front of you. The second course is the salad course, which is the same as a traditional restaurant. During the third course, which is the entree, all of your items are served fresh and unprepared. You and your guests will be cooking the items in the fondue pot in one of our four "cooking styles". The entree is also served with vegetables and an assortment of dipping sauces. The final course is the highlight for many guests. During dessert you will dip strawberries, bananas, pineapple, marshmallows, brownies, blondies, Rice Crispies and pound cake in your choice of milk, dark or white chocolate. Our restaurant is perfect for family dinners or a romantic date night.
