Great place to watch a game on TV or the Bulls live. The food was good, but not stellar. The sweet potato chips are tasty, but the dip is overly sweet. Kids meals are $5 and huge. I wish they would make smaller portions and reduce the price.
Disaster of a night. Unfortunately, I can’t give them 1/2 star.Tonight, I had a 4:30PM reservation with 7 of my friends. We were planning to have an early dinner, because we had tickets to the 6:30 performance of Book of Mormon at DPAC. We arrived just before 4:30 and were given a pager by the hostess…so we went to the bar. The two bar tenders were spending most of their time filling drink orders for servers, but after a couple minutes sitting at the bar we were given menus, but no drink orders were taken. Five minutes later we were asked if we wanted to order drinks, we did, and a couple minutes later they finally served us. At 4:45, the pager went off and we were shown to our table.Rather than drag this out, explaining every minute of this disaster, I’ll jump to the conclusion. We NEVER got our food. Our waiter took our order about 5:00. At 5:50 we were told our food was coming out in five minutes. At 5:55, we asked our waiter to go ahead and bring our checks. At 6:00 he showed up with the checks, but still no food. I went to the hostess and asked to speak to the manager, who told me I was inappropriately upset because they were very busy and EVERYONE was having to wait a long time for their food.At 6:05 we walked out. The manager obviously didn’t think I had a legitimate complaint because we only allowed 1.5 hours to eat in his restaurant. He never apologized, only made excuses. While I understand that my circumstance are rather unique, the manager’s handling of my situation ensures that I’ll never go to this place again.
A Perfect Night. I chose Tobacco Road Sports Caf in Durham for my daughters wedding rehearsal dinner a few weeks ago, and it turned out to be the perfect choice for this big event.Rommie and his staff more than exceeded my expectations in every way. They were easy to work with as I kept changing the details of the dinner during the many months of planning, and on the day of the dinner quickly made the necessary changes as the weather (ie: Tropical Storm Andrea) required the dinner to be moved from their outdoor patio to the interior banquet room. And the food was amazing!! Many, many, many compliments about how delicious everything was from the dinner guests. The wait staff kept things flowing at just the right pace, and treated us all like royalty. A splendid time was had by all!
Pretty good. The times I have been here was to snag a patio seat and watch the Bulls game. It’s really quite perfect, actually. You have a great view of the game, a server to keep the beers comin’, and decent food.
