Dinner at Vit Goal Tofu. Extremely bad service. Went there on a Friday evening. The place had 18 or so other patrons. They took more than 15 minutes to even ask for water after seating us, which is appalling. We tried to catch eye of the servers/ cashier several times to no avail. Then my dinner partner went up to the register asking them to take our food and drink orders. Food is good. Took the usual 15-20 minutes to come after ordering. So I have to say, similar to past reviews, our dinner experience was ruined due to extremely poor service.
Discriminating Owner. All I can say is WOW!! The male owner of this restaurant is a straight DOUCHE!!! I called in to ask when the lunch special was over, he was very rude and said lunch was over at 4. I would only eat there for lunch because dinner is overpriced and I wanted to avoid the male owner. Well, I get there at 3 and he tells me there is only take out and no lunch special. I noticed a couple dining in and had just gotten their food. Apparently, he is too good for my business. I always try to come in when his wife is working. But I guess I was unlucky today. I can’t believe this guy. If you want mediocre Korean food and a douchebag staring at you all the time while eating, Well if he decides you can you dine in then I say Vit Goal is your place. Never again will I go there. I advise going to Min-Ga or Chosun-ok
Very bad service. The guy behind the couter is cracy, I am wondering how can he keep his business by such bad service.
Yummy tofu soup. While their service does leave something to be desired, I never had a negative experience. Their tofu soups are delicious!
Disappointing food and bad service. I saw people gave good reviews, so I decided to try this place. I was totally disappointed. The seafood pancake was extremely small and lacked seafood. For the same price, a nearby Korean place can give you much more (actually better tasting too). The side dishes were slim (4 kinds only) and non-refillable!! Come on, I have never been to a Korean place that doesn’t give refills on side dishes. The seafood tofu contained literaly one shrimp, one clam and one oyster–so lame… The beef rib dish was good though. The service was bad. The waiter (probably the owner too) was rude when I asked him questions on the manu and didn’t even look at our direction again after food was brought to table. Our dinner experience was ruined by both the food and the service. I will never go back to this place.
Vit Goal Tofu. Just typing this makes me hungry.. The dish of choice sits in the middle of the place’s DNA: the tofu soup with vegetable dumplings. Delivered in a smoking hot stoneware bowl, the soup is mixture of broth, vegetable dumplings and massive amounts of tofu, with the creamy consistency of scrambled egg whites. One can order it with a variable level of spiciness. Her Imperial Majesty Junior likes hers plain white, while the Missus and I take ours a bit spicier. It’s served with rice and the usual compliment of pickled kim chee sides. My glasses always fog as this soup is served steaming hot.
Awesome, best asian food since moving from sf. Its a mom and pop style so dont come here expecting 4 star service but the wait is worth it! I recomend there thin sliced beef with special sauce and seafood pizza!
