Good for what it is. I don’t get sometimes what people expect. Yes, it’s great when someplace defies expectations and delivers something beyond that.Wok’n Grille has no such aspirations. It is what it seems to be: An American Chinese take-out place.You’ll pretty much find the standards of that thoroughly American style menu here. Done good to well, if not brilliantly. Again it is what it is, no pretensions.For me it’s convenient to both work and home, and online ordering makes it even simpler.For world travelers and fine diners-this is not for your sophisticated palates. For those depressed by the plethora of mediocre Chinese takeout in the Triangle, you can at least get some decent lo mein.
Location and that’s it.. The only thing this place has going for it, is it’s convenient location in RTP and the cheap lunch specials. The food is mediocre at best. Shrimp & Mixed Vegetables only comes with 3-4 overcooked shrimp.
Yummy!. My wife likes the food there and she is very picky about her Chinese food.The Hot and Sour Soup is especially good.
Rice is Not Good, Fried or Steamed.. I have eaten here a couple of times, trying both the Steamed Rice and the Fried Rice. Apparently, both are made from the same type of rice and it is gross. I can’t eat it. It’s hard and stale sometimes, not sure what is wrong with it but can’t eat it. It may be a brown rice variety and I am used to having asian rice with my dishes. I just don’t like it and have tried to eat it a couple of times. The food is pretty good but rice is pretty much what I like with my dishes and will not be eating there anymore.01 Sep, 2009Rice is Disgusting.
