So, not too impressed I had high hopes though. Every table around us was just talking and complimenting the waitresses about how great everything was. The hush puppies were fabulous, they lasted about 2 seconds between three of us. The actual meal was not so great. My meal was all fried. But everything was so lightly fried, and the batter had no flavor whatsoever that I was basically eating it hot and raw. I ate cocktail sauce with a condiment of seafood. The coleslaw was the same, very bland and all mayonnaise. The service was fine, everyone super nice, the owner I assume walking around and accessible. The interior could use some modernizing.
Trout and Clam Strips. With green beans and a baked potatoe
Amazing local experience.. This restaurant has been around for thirty years family owned with a southern hospitality to boot. I’ve lived in the area for 10 years and this is one of my favorite restaurants. it’s simple and delicious. the shrimp burger is to die for. don’t come in with expectations just let the food speak for itself. also don’t order water or tea because it is the beach and the water Is a little sulfury.
Please don’t let the outside appearance or the reviews deter you from trying this place. We tried this place for a late lunch Wednesday (3:50PM). I was a little unsure going in but the hushpuppies were good, fried oysters were good, the deviled crab was nice, the slaw was not bad either but the best were the fried clam strips. The flounder wasn’t the best but it wasn’t bad either. The bay scallops also were not the best.
50 -50. My boyfriend and I went there to eat after it was recommended by one of the locals..The good:I got the fish sandwich and it was good! They forgot my coleslaw on it, but I didn’t complain, because I don’t want any trouble.The bad:My boyfriend got the bay scallops and he forgot to mention how he wanted it cook. The options were on the menu, but it would have been nice if the server would have asked us. So by default, it came out fried and it was tasteless and a bit chewy! Definitely, not satisfying!The Ugly:I believe 2 servers were assigned in our section and helping each other. We were going to tell our main server that we wanted the bay scallops pan fried instead, but the other server came to us first. We told her we did not like it and would pay extra for the pan fried version. She got defensive/angry and started saying she is sorry we do not like it, and that we had to tell our server that when ordering and walked away. Didn’t even tell us if she would place in another order or not. I was so pissed! Then our main server came around and asked us if we needed anything and we told her we wanted another order. She was a lot nicer and said that it’s OK and will put in another order for us. That is what you call good customer service! The mean server did put in our order, but had charged us 1/2 the price of the original dish as well and added it to our ticket. We were happy to pay the additional cost, but rude customer service is not necessary! Will NEVER go back and NEVER recommend!!
Not Good. Went for dinner and have to say I will not return. Our waitress was very nice but the food was a whole other story. I ordered trout with clam strips with green beans and a baked potato. The trout was terrible! It was cooked poorly and tasted crap. The green beans were obviously from a can. The clam strips were alright, but they were chewy. I will not be returning to Jordan’s House of Seafood
Bland, mediocre food. Wish we hadn’t gone. Waitress was nice but inattentive. Hush puppies were ok but the flounder was like cardboard.
